Very awful visit! It was a circus! The front desk is just horrible. I filled all my insurance documents they were approved through Zocdoc. I also called a few days before my appointment to make sure if all documents were received and they told me yes they have everything. I come into the office for my appointment, they have me wait for 30 min and make me fill all my forms again then this lady tells me that supposedly my insurance is unable to be found! This staff member begins to turn me away and is so rude. Another staff member nearby tries to help out to clarify the situation and she is able to confirm that my insurance is indeed approved and they have several patients that use it under another grouping and was very kind. I see no reason why this other lady was telling me different. The kind lady who assisted me shortly left to attend someone else and insist that the other staff member does the job to situate me and verify everything. Once she becomes out of sight the original staff member instructs me to sit down and wait so she can “double check”. She then eventually calls me to the front desk a few minutes after to tell me the office is “unable to help me today”. I then ask why, then she tells me “I have your insurance and it is accepted and covered, but I can’t find it”. This office is located in Parkslope and already attracts a certain “class and group of people” (if you catch my drift….). This made me very upset just be profiled and just pushed away. It would be honestly better if they told me that they just didn’t want to help me because of my color. Better to be honest than to be not!!! I have no right to comment in regards to the services that would have been provided if I were seen by the doctor and I’m sure it probably would’ve been great. This doctor needs to check his staff and make sure the message that he is trying represent needs to be more transparent. What I experienced today is very damaging to...
Read moreBeen living with extremely dry eyes for 10+ years, the redness and rubbing annoying and at times painful. Job requires looking at a screen for long periods I would never be able to sit for longer than an hour. Tried everything from using eye drops (went through 7 brands) to 3x a day warm compress, bought a humidifier near my desk and even started taking fish oil pills. It was debilitating, frustrating and took a big mental toll on me especially during covid when my screen time increased significantly.
I found Dr. Bukhatetsky on Google early September and was able to make an appointment a few days after. After explaining my issues and a thorough evaluation (photos of the inside of my eyelids) and assessment of the actual problem , Dr. Bukhatetsky recommended I go through a full course treatment for IPL. I never heard of IPL before so I went home and did some research. At this point I was willing to try anything because I physically could not continue to live with constant dry eyes so about 4 days later I was scheduled for my first treatment (four in total). By the third treatment my eyes felt rejuvenated, I was able to concentrate on the screen without severe redness or drying. I'm currently two weeks past my last treatment and I haven't needed any eye drops, fish oil or warm compresses since the last treatment!!
Thank you Dr. Bukhatetsky and the staff at Park Slope Family Eye Care, the process, the treatment, the recovery and empathy was unbelievable. Thank you for helping me live my...
Read morestaffs were nice, nice selections of eyewear and etc. However I had a bit weird experience at this place.
I got a huge lump on my eyelid so visited here. Doc exactly knew what was my issue (internal hordeolum) and gave me simple instructions and if it doesn't work out, come back for further treatments. however my stye didn't go away so I was trying to make a second appointment, but they suddenly says they don't treat eyelid issues im describing and find another place. Not sure why did they even booked on my first visit if they were gonna say find "another place" without any clue, wasted my money and time.
So I've visited another eyecare at 9th street and they mentioned my stye is beyond general eyecare centers can deal with, and find an Ophthalmologist who can provide further treatments. I am not sure why Park Slope Family Eye Care didn't even mentioned about any of these info i badly needed.
My eyelids were terribly deformed, almost looked like I got stung by a bee. It popped by itself, crusted badly. Even i could tell it's already beyond classic egg massage stye treatment level. Ophthalmologist at 8th Ave fixed it on my first visit. (prescribed me an ointment as well)
I'd prob visit here again for getting a new prescriptions for glasses since its nearby, but wouldn't do any other stuffs here...
