Bar none, this pet store is one of the best, if not the best In Brooklyn. I originally started coming here roughly three months ago to by a fish tank for my daughter and of course fishes. I had no idea on what size to buy or what fish to get. No more than a couple of minutes of this lost stare looking at the fishes, a gentlemen by the name Dom who works there approached me and asked if I needed any help? I explained to Dom that I want to buy my daughter a fish tank and set it with fishes but don't know where to start. After finishing explaining to Dom what I wanted he suggested I start with a 10 gallon Glow aquarium kit and some glow fishes. He picked out the food, gravel and a few things I would need. After purchasing this 10 gallon glow tank, I took it home set it up and my daughter loves it, thank you. A month later I went back to get a bigger tank and more fishes and was hoping I ran into Dom so I could speak with him on what I wanted so he could help make this easier. When I arrived I was surprised when I walked in to hear someone say good afternoon JonCarlo. I turned to my right and Dom was there. I was like no and he was like way, amazing. I told Dom I was looking for a bigger tank maybe 20 gallons or 30 gallons and he told me about the dollar a gallon sale or 50 percent off on I believe 40 gallons and above. Again I was like no and he was like way. Bottom line I ended up buying a 55 gallon and been going there every since. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful, and there's a lady at the register who's always saving me money when I buy food and other accessories there, sorry I cant remember her name. So basically I now own a 75, two 55's, the 10 gallons and a few others. I became a fish hobbyist and an aquarist and wouldn't go anywhere else but there. Sad and disappointed at this location. It's hard to find a good and steady groomer and even though things happen, I was heartbroken that my baby had to be turned around due to miscommunication. He has an appointment to take pictures with Santa and I wanted him to look his best as this would be his first holiday pictures. We made it to his appointment just to be told his groomer was unwell and cancelled appointments. I never received a notification and my appointment was still shown on the computer system. We had to cross our fingers and rush to another location that would take him and it cost me way more than I could afford but I needed him to look his best. I held off with other complaints I had with this location after my dog being groomed here. I will say this, my dog has been nipped and cut from getting his hair cut here and I would see these cuts until after bring him home. At first this location was awesome and I drove past other Petco locations to come here but now we are going elsewhere. At this point we bounce from Petco and PetSmart and PetSmart is winning in the grooming department. I'm not upset about someone's unexpected illness at all. Visited this store a few times and it was a good experience. Went there in search of a dog for our apartment and ended up getting fishes in stead. The staff was preoccupied so we had to wait but for the most part they were very welcoming and they gave us all the info we needed to get our fish tank up and running. If you’re a first time pet owner, they have ALL the necessary tools you might need for your fish tank. They have a wide variety of merchandise in stores that you can choose from and they are a bit pricey but there’s a lot of affordable items there as well. I bought a 2.5 gallon fish tank kit that came with everything to get the tank up and running, fishes were not included lol. I also bought colored stones and a big sea rock to name a few, a thermostat and additional filter cartridges. They have a wide variety of pets to choose from like fishes as I’ve mentioned, weeks old turtles, chameleons, parrots, bearded dragons, hamsters, salt water fishes, snails, shrimps, frogs and many more.
