Furniture To Go — Local services in New York

I bought furniture from this store twice. Both times I got the best possible price, way cheaper than anywhere else whether online or in-store. But warranty support is zero.

The first time I went there, I bought a recliner. After trying out all of the models in the store, I fell in love with one of them, it was so incredibly comfortable. I was hesitant about the price, but they gave me an offer so low, I just couldn't refuse. It took a very long time to arrive, (about 4 weeks) which was a little longer than I expected. But there was no rush. I just would have preferred better information up front. Calling the store did not give any more info about when it would arrive.

When it arrived, it had some bad scratches in the back, but I didn't really want to bother following up, so I just left it. One of my sons always commented that the back looks crooked, but I didn't take him seriously, it was incredibly comfortable.

A year later, I still love the recliner, and decided to buy the matching love-seat and couch. I shopped around a lot, then went to this store again, and they beat every other price by a lot. This time they were a little more accurate at predicting the delivery date. I also closely examined the furniture when it was delivered, and it was all in perfect new condition. So far so, good - now the bad part. The 'crookedness' of the recliner was getting worse, and when I was in the store for the couch, the salesman mentioned that the recliner had a warranty. I did not realize that. I closely examined the recliner and found to my shock that my son was correct (imagine that, a teenager being right!!) the wooden frame of the recliner back was cracked and therefore sagged one one side when leaning back! This had apparently been broken all along, a factory defect. According to the warranty terms, the wood frame is covered by a 5-year warranty, so I ought to be covered.

It has now been almost 3 MONTHS and I have been calling and emailing the store to try to get warranty support. They constantly say 'the girl who handles it is not in today' or 'please resend the email with new pictures'. I have gotten NOWHERE with this.

So they have great prices, but ZERO...

Furniture to Go is actually now located a block or so from previous location. They are 2364 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn. All the sales guys we worked with were very helpful and patient. I ordered 2 bedroom sets, mattresses/box spring, pillow top mattress, formal living room furniture and such a comfortable sectional with ottoman for our family room. We recently purchased a house and we went to Furniture to Go to fill our new home with furnishings. The quality is very good and the price was fantastic. They delivered my items pretty quickly after the sale. The sectional did take a little longer but it was fine; I think the warehouse was out of stock of the one we wanted but the wait was worth it. It is super comfy! I have to say the pricing was very competitive for all the pieces we received. Richie the owner was so helpful and his son, John, was even more so if you can imagine. Every time we stopped by it was like we were seeing old friends and mind you, we never met them before. I love all my pieces of furniture in my home and have received plenty of compliments. We always use to say, we wish our home was furnished a certain way and now we have a home beautifully furnished, thanks to them. We've had people over and they rave how lovely the pieces are and comfortable too. I am disappointed to read some consumers didn't have a good experience because this furniture store was the absolute best to help furnish our home. I couldn't be more pleased. Also, the delivery guys were really great. They were on time and took care unloading then putting together the pieces of furniture quickly and well. Seriously this place is a disaster all i can say is RUN AND DON'T EVEN BOTHER LOOKING BACK. and honestly they don't even deserve 1 star. I ordered a mattress over 3 weeks ago paid in full and my order was confirmed for delivery 3X and was cancelled 3X, which i wasted my work days waiting for it. Than the lady saids it will come Monday Before 2PM guaranteed so I said to her are you sure she said yes. so I waited till Monday and I get a call around 11 am that I'm confirmed for a delivery before 2 PM for the mattress. so I decide to clear and vacuum the room to place the mattress on the floor until the bed frame would come which i ordered somewhere else thankfully. Well about 30 mins later i get a call from the lady saying that the mattress didn't come yet and that they will receive it by Friday, which again I have to wait again til they deliver it to me. the messed up part of it all I was getting married on sunday and needed a bed to have for the wedding night ;) but this bootleg/shady furniture store could not even send a mattress on time let alone 4X. THEY SUCK AND ARE TRULY PATHETIC SAVE YOUR $$$ AND THE HEADACHE. i went somewhere else paid $150 more but got better quality product and service. I HOPE THIS HELPS AND IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME THAN GO AND SEE FOR YOURSELF, BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. PS IT SHOULD BE CALLED FURNITURE TO STAY BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SEEM LIKE ANY FURNITURE IS GOING AT ALL. OHH AND THE ONLY GUY WHO GAVE 5 STARS ON THE REVIEWS IS ONE OF THE OWNERS. THEY NEED TO NAME...
