I had the worst customer experience today at Prada and I no longer feel the company has integrity or stands by its own products!
A few months ago I dropped off a pair of platform sandals at Prada for repair. The sandals are more than 5 years old so they charged me for the repair and sent the shoes to Italy and I received them months later.
THE VERY FIRST TIME I wore the sandals after they were returned to me, the right sandal completely separated from the platform, while I was walking my children to school. I hobbled a block to a shoe repair place that glued the two together, but warned me that the interior of the platform had completely disintegrated and the repair would likely not hold. It didn't, not even for another block.
Today I took the sandals back to repair the right one. The clerk immediately called the manager, who stood combatively in front of my and told me it was against policy for them to repair a shoe that someone else had repaired, meaning the glue. Fine. I understood, but I wanted to know whether I could be reimbursed for the repair cost of the other sandal since I paid for a useless repair if both sandals could not be worn.
The problem with the left sandal, I now realize, was the same. The platform interior had disintegrated, which is why my foot was sinking into the sandal with every step until finally the platform exterior cracked. I thought the crack was the problem but clearly it was only the outward sign of the true issue, which is that the platform is filled with foam that simply disintegrates over time.
Prada took both sandals that first time, and sent them both to Italy, and returned them both. It seems clear to me that it was a failure on Prada's part not to tell me what in fact was wrong with the shoes and to warn me that the other shoe was likely to have disintegrated too. Or better yet, repair the other shoe as well since it clearly was a matter of minutes before it, too, fell apart. But instead, they left me to become hobbled in the middle of Manhattan only minutes after taking them out of the Prada bag.
The manager said that I only asked for one sandal to be repaired, and that's what they did. But I said I am not a shoe expert. I am only a wearer of shoes. They are the experts.
When I asked for reimbursement for the useless repair, she again said, You asked us to repair the left shoe and we did.
But, I said, I have 2 feet and you sell shoes in pairs! These were no longer wearable within 10 minutes of your supposed repair!
We are done here, she said.
Oh yes, I agreed, we are done here.
But, I am now on the internet and we are NOT done here. Prada, if you cannot stand by your work and you cannot be civil to a paying customer, then it is my duty to warn others of my experience!
You not only charged me for a useless expensive repair, but you behaved deplorably to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn 02/22/23 around the time of 6:30p.m. going into 7:00p.m. I went to the prada store with my family relative because she wanted to purchase a similar bag that I currently owned. She decided on the bag and as we made our way downstairs to pay for the bag she came aross a pair of sneakers she liked and as the sales associate assisted her i noticed how it went from only two security personnals downstairs but now five and no long after seven. Not only did three stood right in front of me and my relative but made things really uncomfortable. Instad of security postitioning themesleves on the four sides of the corners of the room they remain in front of us as we shop. To make matters worst there was a suervisor who later identified himself as Gibson came and approach us swing a set of keys and I quote saying "hello ladies is everying okay" we responded and said yes he proceeded to say " ooh okay just checking your temperature" I was in complete shock and couldn't understand where his aggression was coming from at all. Not only was that supervisor disrespectuful but when I ask him sir can please step to side after I made a point I was a customer he proceeded to tell me no he will not move after making such commit for no apparent reason. Not only did he did it in front of the other seven security personnel downstairs he proceeded to say how he was told by another security memeber that we made him uncomfortable. The security memeber he is referring to was a male individual who had red color tip hair in which I stated he was twisitng his hair which he was right in front of us in which I wanted to pictures of myself in the mirrior but couldnt because all the security memebers was essentially all in front us. Overall, how the supervisor chose to handle the situation was unprofessional and as a supervisior part of your job is being a leader and he didn't demostrate that at all. He could of handle the situation different especially when dealing with a customer. He not only made me unfortable a former customer but a potential new customer who normally shops in the area. I will not be returning back to the Prada store as long as that supervisor is working at that store. I felt humilated and disgusted by the type of treatment I received. I feel like that supervisor should be held accountable for his actions and should not have customers feel like the way he made us feel. Once again I will not be returning but I do want a follow up on this incident because this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe discrimination and racial profiling I experienced today at this Prada store is astounding. I'm still in disbelief. I actually questioned them because why would I dare to think that in 2023 they would know better. I got to the door of the store I was alone and there was nobody in a line to get into the store. As I went to open the door the security at the entrance wouldn't let me in. Told me I needed to wait for an associate to come and get me and bring me into the store. Ok that's weird I thought but I figured that's their process weird as it sounded. I waited a few minutes then I asked him again why I couldn't just wait in the store. Why do I have to wait outside a store in which I could potentially be spending my money. It was a very icky feeling as he insisted that I needed to wait for an associate. Just as he was telling me that she came and fetched me and I asked her why I couldn't at least be allowed in the store. She apologized (fake apology of course) as she explained that it was the stores policy. Policy gor black people? I asked in my head. Then I thought nah it can't be. Anyways I went with her half heartedly no longer fully interested in shopping in the store as she took me to where the shoes were. They didn't have the size I was looking for a saving grace actually because i wasn't sure I wanted to give this despicable people my hard earned money any more, I left the store and as I got to the door there were small groups of shoppers literally being allowed in the store no questions asked and they didn't look like me. Smh that's when I confirmed that this is a policy only for a type of people. Prada Soho New York you should be embarrassed and ashamed of yourselves. I will never wear anything Prada on my body and no black people should really but oh...
