I was reluctant on making this review but feel like it’s important because I’ve had not only one but two poor experiences with this restaurant. First time ordering: we called and ordered two salads, and they said it would arrive in 30 minutes, but it didn’t arrive for an hour and a half. When it did finally arrive, the ingredients were wrong, and the instructions were not followed (we asked for it chopped and it also wasn’t). Obviously frustrated that we didn’t receive the correct ingredients in our salad, we called them back to make a complaint and told them that We didn’t want these type of salads And we can stop at the restaurant to pick up the correct ones (and they were $60 for the two) because we were now running behind schedule after waiting so long for the salads and couldn’t wait for them to deliver again. The person on the phone was extremely rude and basically told us that’s not an option, And it would only be an option if they could send their delivery person back to pick up the original salads. We said no because we’re no longer home, But they sent the delivery person anyways in my building was calling my phone asking if they should let him back up. I thought this was really weird. Anyway, we let it go and ended up eating the salads when we got home and they were good salads. So we let it slide, because although it was a shitty experience, the salads were actually really good even if incorrect.

This obviously tainted our experience with mangia, but we decided to order from them again about a month later and try to give it another go. This time we ordered it on Uber Eats so we can get it faster maybe.

We did get it faster but the order was again incorrect for all four salads. We really didn’t have time this time, and we know the customer service was poor before so we decided to suck it up. I had lemons in our fridge, so I squeezed them up and poured them on the salads (They forgot the dressing). Also, something noteworthy was that the bowls were like half full this time compared to the first time which was also upsetting. Because where is the rest of my $28 salad?

When I began mixing my solid bowl, I noticed something in it that didn’t look like an ingredient in the salad. I seriously thought it was a date pit. They forgot to add the olives that we requested in our salad, and thank God they did, because it wouldn’t have raised a red flag that there’s something black in my salad if they didn’t forget. So I picked this date pit with my fork only to realize it was a whole MOTH.

I was absolutely stunned and grossed out and taken back, my friends who were eating their salad, started panicking, and everyone spit their bites out.

Now I don’t know how this could be possible from a restaurant, as I’ve never had this happen… But I think it’s worth leaving a review about this, because the way that Customer Service also handled it was really poor. They basically told us to call Uber eats and ask for a refund and that they would tell the manager.

Anyway, if anyone is really sensitive to things like this, I would not recommend ordering from here because there’s no explanation on how I think this...

This charming little spot is a true hidden gem for anyone looking for a fresh and satisfying meal. I stopped by for a late lunch and ordered the Tuna Nicoise Salad, which was absolutely delightful. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and though they'd run out of mesclun, I was kindly kindly choose to choose from other greens. Baby kale and arugula were just as tasty.

What I loved most was that you can customize your own salads or sandwiches, and everything is mixed right in front of you. The interior has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Although this place seems designed more for takeout, with all meals served in to-go boxes and limited seating, I was lucky to get a table inside. Even with the minimalist dining setup, the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere more than make up for it.

I didn’t try their pastries, but they looked irresistible and are on my list for next time. If you’re in the area, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. I truly...

Was interested in checking out a new spot for breakfast on my way into work. Overpriced for a grab-and-go breakfast. Food was okay but nothing special at all. Prices are different online than in store. $18 and change for a breakfast sandwich & small orange juice. You’re better off with a street cart or the deli nextdoor. This place is for the “influencer” crowd, not locals.

Editing to respond to your passive aggressive response, to my honest review: Your prices online do not match in store. $18+ for an okay breakfast sandwich (even Starbucks tastes better) and an extremely pulpy orange juice is a little wild even for Manhattan. If you’ve been around since ‘81 I’d expect a little better. I’m good without wasting my time stepping foot in this business again. Changing from 2 to 1 star for your moody response. And you know very well true New Yorkers are totally fine with with a street cart, so that’s definitely not your audience which again is...

Mangia has become our favorite go-to spot and we just can't get enough. It's become such a part of our routine that we can't imagine starting our day without it. Everything about this place is outstanding, from the staff to the food to the drinks. It’s like our own little secret European cafe right in the middle of Soho! Lilo’s espresso is hands down the best in New York City, and he never fails to put a smile on our faces. The whole team at Mangia feels like family now, and that's what makes it so special. Plus, the food is consistently delicious and fresh. In a city with no shortage of great coffee shops and restaurants, Mangia stands out as one of the best in the area. Please do yourself a favor and stop by if you haven’t yet - you won't be disappointed!! P.S. watch out for the Green Goddess juice….its dangerously addictive!!
