On February 28th 2025 I walked into this shop and I spoke to a woman She and I had what I thought was a clear understanding of what kind of braiding style I was going for which would be (Tree Braids). I showed her videos of how I wanted my hair and I asked her how many packs of hair I’d need she said 2-3 packs for this style because although they do provide braiding hair it is synthetic and I prefer human I said I’ll buy 3 just in case because I like full hair on my head. She told me it would be 160$. Later tried to change the price to $180 I go to the beauty supply to buy the packs & I even buy 1 curlier type hair just to make the style even more fuller there should’ve never ever been any reason for my hair to be thin. I had enough packs By the time I get back to the shop which was only across the street. The woman I had spoke to about the style we would do was talking to another woman who started separating my hair I brought (fine but I had no clue that same woman unaware of what I had asked for) would then begin to start on my head. she just passed me along to some1 else & that felt real off to me. So the lady I was passed to then starts grabbing my head and askin me ā€œwhat I want show me pictureā€. Who passes some1 over to some1 else and not relay the message on what the style is? It became a concern for me that she kept asking so I said ā€œDo you not know what you’re doing?ā€ Because it’s ok I can leave. She ignore my question and continues to grab twist&turn my head to part my hair aggressively. I snatch my head back and tell her to not grab my head. Literally y’all I’m a grown woman I know how to turn my own head was she ok? She also tried to sneak in synthetic hair into my head and I nearly panicked because like what? And why? I repeatedly stated I cannot use synthetic on my hair. The 1st comes over to do my hair. The hair at the top is parted in a smaller section the back is braided in a wider section. Most of the hair I brought should be used in the back obviously because it’s a wider space that needs to be fuller than the top. I kept telling her to make it full she said ā€œyes I make it pretty for youā€. I start to realize that she’s running out of corn rolls to make which means she’s about to make her way to the smaller section of my head (the top). I look at the packs of hair and I have a full pack left and 2 half’s of another that we still didn’t use. Not only was that math not adding up but I seen me and the back of my head was thin as a feather. You could see the world behind me my hair was so thin. She never mentioned redoing it. She said ā€œI will use all the hair at the top and it will be fullā€. So wait .. let me get this right. She was saying she didn’t use a pack in the back aka the largest spot that would need a full back and a half back there, so she was going to instead use pack 1 and the rest of the half of pack 2 and half of pack 3 all at the top in the smallest section. I feel like she was trying to give me some mullet kinda style because what? So she then walks away and now I want to leave but I know me and I know how these shops can get. I called the cops I didn’t tell them I called the cops I was able to record real in time footage of me being disregarded by the braider without a word said to me she just walked over to do another head that had someone braiding their head already. So now they had 2 ppl on their head. Every1 had 2 braiders I had none for 30-40 mins. I record me waiting so that the cops can see upon arrival that I have documented me waiting around and also so that they can see my thin plus unfinished hair. I wanted to offer 50$ to her for wasting our time and go. When the cops arrived 40 mins later I was still sitting in the chair recording myself on live just looking thin and waited out. I explain to the officer the situations I show my footage & my hair. She understood & then she told them I’d be willing to pay her something for time. So I gave her cash no card so she knows it’s real. I rate this place a -F and I promise you the service is bafflingly awful.

I recently got my braids done this Saturday at Queen Maman and the Braider used so much gel that all my braids turned white and sticky and I can’t even wear them out properly. Overall this place is very unhygienic. The tubs of gel they use come out of dirty buckets and they just slap gel on the top of the dirty lids for each client. This only creates more bacteria being spread around. Due to this not only are the braids turning white but it’s causing my scalp to itch and burn. I also did not appreciate how my Braider kept stopping to shop with random ā€œvendorsā€ that kept walking into the shop. This would’ve been okay if she would’ve washed her hands after digging through random strangers bags. For example it would be random people off the street selling random items in mysterious bags. Honestly it’s just not clean to touch things off the street and not wash your hands before touching someone’s FACE and Scalp. I think overall the braiders here need a course on germs and cleanliness. As grown women we should not be this dirty. I also didn’t see anyone sanitizing combs or anything between clients. I added a photo of my hair on Day 2 after getting them done. There was so much gel that it got hard and became grimy. I can literally squeeze each braid and the gel will squeeze out. This is beyond unacceptable. Please contact me when you can

First of all I asked for small knotless braids and I feel like I got medium or smedium braids .. they probably did small in back and medium on top then they always got trouble parting my hair in the middle .. they always asking me if it’s in the middle like if I’m the stylist .. and the lady was rough with my hair . Ripping it & they be talking in there own language. Just lazy . Towards the end she didn’t wanna braid my hair more down . She was gonna leave my haie half braided & when I asked her nicely can she braid the hair more she act like she don’t know English and started looking at another braider and the other day told me it’s too late and I told her it’s not . This is your job . I’m paying you my money for something I want . She ended up doing it alittle just not how I want it . I was ready to go so I’m like it’s whatever at this point . These people are rude lowkey . They are lazyyyyy & over priced . I thought it was 200$ any size and length . She charged me 220$ . I just paid the amount flat and walked out cause they was already irritating me but I’m not coming back . This probably like the second time they did bad . The first time is when I got boho and it got knotted the same day and they stingy with the hair now I’m having another bad experience. Never again !!!!

I went to this location to get simple knotless box braids and it was a disaster! Even though they tried to rectify and fix the issue in the end, I would NEVER go back to this place EVER again. This shop was highly recommended on TikTok, so after calling and asking if they took walk-ins, I went in to get some medium size box braids. Got there and went to the first shop 24-81 because that was the address they provided me in the text, then they sent me across the street to 24-80 (second location ) where I was greeted by a woman (don’t know her name), but I spoke to her, showed her the pictures attached and said this is what I want. I asked, do you have this color ? Yes. I asked her the price, and asked if I can pay 180.00, she said no, it’s 200.00. I said ok and proceeded to Asfa. She called her outside, they had a conversation, while I sat inside then she came back with copper brown hair #30. Mistake #1 because that’s NOT what I asked for and they’re all sitting there telling me, that it’s the color. It’s NOT! I needed my hair done, so I stayed rather than running out. Afsa, started braiding my hair and she’s rough as all hell, had to tell her numerous times, that she’s braiding too tight, a lot of the braids were messy, wrong size in the back and then the same lady, who greeted me at the door gonna have THE NERVE to come and ask me to pay before my hair is finished. Me: I am not paying for anything until my hair is finished. HER: Do you like your hair? ME: This is not what I spoke to you about before I walked into this shop. HER: Me, you spoke to me? I said Yes, YOU. This is not what I discussed with you prior to walking in. Afsa, had larger braids in the back and after going off on both her and Afsa, everyone gathered around, to fix my hair, which I appreciated, but it was too late. They’re adding jam to your hair and trying to comb it out with a rat tail comb before braiding the hair. Like are you F-ING crazy?!? 😔😔!! They know nothing about healthy hair and protective hair style practices. My braids in the back look a HOT mess, my real hair is sticking out the braids, some look all twisted up like a 10 yr old braided my hair, plus again… the hair is sticking out because she thought that she would be able to take a scissor and cut the hair ā€œto make it appear neatā€ā€¦ just a hot disaster. They offered for me to go back in two months to see another lady, but I’ll pass! Even though they offered to fix which was nice and they apologized, I’ll pass. You see this place,...

Queen mama/ Queen wicked is just pure evil and greedy. My sister a NURSE went based on word of mouth and they gave her a rookie that turned her hair into a UGlY KNOTTY MOP. she sent me pics of her hair falling out. She said it took 11 hours to get it done, no matter how many times she ask for someone else they told her NO. Goddess braids $220 then $40 extra for human hair at the end just to be in pain and distress is unacceptable, my sister left the shop crying. YES !! HER TEARS MEANT NOTHING TO THEM. I told her to go back and let them do it over. She reported to the shop the next day 9:30 am as per Queen mama who seemed nice over the phone. However queen mama stopped the person that’s was helping her to pull my sister’s hair out, to do someone else hair, leaving my sister to pull her own hair out. My sister finished pulling out her own hair out at 12pm. Even though Queen mama knew my sister had to go to work that night for a 7pm shift. Queen mama then said to her she will have to pay 50$ extra if she wanted her do it over when it was the rookie fault. As a nurse my self I’m very upset. They kept telling her it would be ok when she asked them to start her hair please. Queen mama is a pathological liar kept telling her she would reach work on time and she should wait multiple times. They started her hair 4pm after completing another persons whole head WOW!. Then try to do the middle / back of my sister hair big what a set of cheaters. My sister ask for her money back and queen mama said, ā€œ I will not give you any money back.ā€ They finished her hair at 10pm and she got to work late. What a wicked woman. People should BOYCOTT this business. Stop supporting her demonic lifestyle. Too many braiders in NY that are way better that, we deserve respect and professionalism. We need this esp when you work so hard. They talk about you in their language, yank people hair and over charge them and on top of that disrespect them. . I’m sorry my sister didn’t read some of these reviews before going. I pray this lady change her ways, they will butter you up but it’s a trick be very careful guys. NURSES STAY AWAY U DONT DESERVE THIS, WE GOT THRU TOO MUCH ALREADY. I wish I could give 0 star for...
