Disaster, a down right disaster, my hair was pulled tightly, she is VERY VERY disrespectful, like seriously has complete lack of manners for her customers, if you love your hair (especially if your a woman with thick hair, DO NOT EVEN TRY IT, you'll regret it, because she will pull tightly on your hair and your ingrown hair**) like even 2 days after the hair was taken out, my scalp was still super tender. I paid her $125 and paid $64 for the cuban twist hair, ended up taking the hair out the next day, she told me I would get a refund and now her "assistant" (I believe) says that I can't get a refund, (keep in mind, before she started my hair I told her I was tender headed and not to do my hair tightly, and she continued to pull tightly on my hair). While I was also getting my hair done she kept pushing and pulling on me to keep my head straight (as if I were her child, not a way to treat a customer) if you value a respectful hairstylist and for them to respect what you specifically tell them not to do, DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE. Truthfully she lacks respect and simple human decency. Then they both decided I should get $50 back OUT OF $125 for the hair that they didn't do properly, so if you ass 125+64=189, so $189 I wasted on poor service, $64 of which was money for the hair, and she tells you to buy 10 packs (which I saw bundles of hair in her lower cabinet that she keeps, I guess she makes you buy a lot so she has some left over for her personal use). I am just really pissed that I wasted my money, time and effort. Terrible, ladies all jokes aside, beware, if you love you keep your "strands and edges" don't think about it. Take it from an honest reviewer. The comment left below by luvly is all blasphemy, she is HIGHLY disrespectful and she is posing a COMPLETELY false story, this is the same woman who begged me to remove my review from yelp and I refused, she said for the "sake" of her business, but I can post as I please, she is high disrespectful, and if you don't believe me read the other comments from former reviewers about her attitude there is like 3 or more reviewers who stated negative comments about her attitude. HER ATTITUDE WILL NOT GET HER FAR IF SHE DOES NOT FIX IT, TRUST ME, SHE IS A 30-YEAR-OLD woman arguing with a 21-YEAR-OLD, now tell me who looks more stupid....act your age luvly, your rude and you need to check your attitude because it can seriously destroy...
Read moreMs. Luvly does really nice work so I won’t discredit her on that however she has a really bad attitude. I’ve kept my composure for awhile because I like her work, but today was the last straw putting money in someone’s pocket that has a bad aura. The first incident was the delusion of me allegedly moving my head constantly and not being still. I’ve been to a number of different hair stylists and I’ve never received a complaint about me having such constant movement. The second incident was really not an incident because I didn’t address the issue then, but my 12 year old daughter experienced the same delusion from Ms Luvly Brown about her constantly moving. I’m not sure what this woman’s problem was, but today was it! Here I am minding my business when Ms. Luvly decided she wanted to make a comment about me looking as if I had an attitude…and If I Did?! SO WHAT! I did not address her in any rude way. I sat and minded my business while she worked on someone else’s hair. She then makes a statement about my hair being dirty and telling me that I needed to wash my hair before I came, but when I tried to explain to her that I had psoriasis and that my hair was clean, just very dry, she had a tantrum. As her client is getting ready to leave she says to me “do you want to reschedule because it seems like you have an attitude and I can’t do attitude.” I explained to her that my gas, nor my time or my money would go to waste and that I would not be rescheduling. She then tells me that I need to change my attitude if i want her to do my hair. It took every ounce of me not to pounce on her. As I am sitting there, I put my headphones in my ear, and was humming a tune that was playing. Miss Luvly was somehow bothered by that because she wanted to sing her own song. The whole time she mumbled under her breath, stormed around the room and did the unnecessary burning, whatever sage or incense, she thought would cleanse the room. I’ve never in my life experienced such horrible service. Just imagine somebody yanking your head around because they have an attitude. It really took everything in me not to react the way I should have.
Update: She just called me about this post! Lol and asked me if I was mad because she was living her life. Talk about DELUSIONAL AND...
Read moreLuvly was a referral, I had seen her work and was very impressed. Her crochet faux locs and havana twists look impeccable. I waited nearly 2 1/2 hours for Luvly to finish up with another client, even though I was scheduled for 4pm. My hair appointment didn't start until after 7 pm. Not her fault, it was a snowy day and her client was late. I booked her for crochet goddess locs. I explained to her that I am tender headed and suffer from alopecia, if she could use caution. That didn't stop Luvly from pulling my hair, pushing my head and aggressively adjusting me as she saw fit. I move a lot when my hair is braided, this I know. I'm tender headed and it's difficult for me to stand the pain/yanking of braiding. I also noticed she treated me differently than the client before me. She was polite and kind, offering me water and ensuring that she'd be done soon but she didn't check for my comfort AT ALL while doing my hair. When I was very clearly in pain, my discomfort reached a point where I was making a fist, tapping my foot and hitting my own knee. I told her that the braids were tight and she assured me that they would loosen up. I know that, but that wasn't my immediate concern. My braids were so tight my scalp was tender and swollen for DAYS. I developed tensions bumps all over my scalp, relief only coming when I took 1000mg of pain relief. Luvly does great work and she's fast but it comes at a price. If you don't mind tension bumps, a sore scalp and a week full of interrupted sleep...go for it. Her prices...
