Queens Beauty Salon — Local services in New York

Im taking a trip to aruba for my 30th birthday. I called this salon three weeks ago to make a waxing appointment. The lady didnt seem ... On it. At all. I told her i was coming in and she didnt take any ... Intake steps. No request for my email no phone number she didnt ask me very much. Very "ok well then just come in" energy. I disregard this, the reviews here are good. But its a red flag. We agree on a 10am appointment for sunday 10/09. Sunday comes. Im paying for parking. I pull up at 9:5. The shop is closed and no one is there. I call no one answers. Its cold. I waiy outside until 10:03 and then go to sit in my car and call periodically. Im flying out in four days Ive prepaid for this on groupon. I cant change it. This has to work. The owner calls me back at 10:08 and asks me why i called. I tell her i have a 10am appointmeny and have been waiting for her. She immediately lies and tries to tell me she was on time. I tell her i as outside at 9:55 am. I show up. She says she saw me leave. She clearly doesnt remember my appointment. I remind her about my appointment. She says its not ringing a bell. Its a double red flag because where is the professionalism? I agree to get started. I let her know i just staryed my period today and i ask if thats ok. She says no and to come back when its done. Ive never encountered a wax parlor that refuses to service women on their period. She very flippantly told me to ait until it as over. I told her i was flying out to aruba. Sh. just... Stared at me and waited for me to make my exit. I didnt like her lateness, her attitude, or her inability to wax me during an ostensibly normal period of time. I had to go to the european wax center and pay out of pocket in full AGAIN. Im currently fighting the charges with groupon but this was an objectively negative and deeply annoying experience and i would not reccommend this establishment or the practitioner at all. Just go to the european wax center. They're running a half off new services promo right now and they dod a great job my girlie is bald as an eagle and i didnt...

Just got threading done here and got cut several times. I am bleeding from at least three places. I was crying afterward, so I should have known something was wrong. This picture is unclear, but I would not recommend this salon for threading. The woman refused to apologize, didn't get her name. (Later found out her name is Nisha.) I still paid her $5 because I didn't have any smaller bills. She blamed it on me not holding my brow well enough??? I have been threading my brows for years and have never been cut like this. There was one other customer in the store that I asked to look at my brow so I had a witness to the situation. The threader finally then said she agreed with me (still no apology) but that I did not have to involve other customers. I left without an apology and stood outside to write this review. When she saw that I was writing a negative review, a coworker came out and offered money back. I told her I did not want money, but I would appreciate an apology and admitting she did not do a good job. That did finally happen (she said her excuse is I was her first customer of the day...so I guess don't get your brows threaded here until after she's had a few practice rounds on other people's faces???) but I think this review is still warranted as a warning to other new customers. Sorry Nisha, but an apology and refusal to take my money for a bad job would have rectified the situation immediately. You instead chose to argue with me as I am showing you my bleeding face, demand money, and say that I am spoiling YOUR day. I went on Wednesday jun 13, the women are amazing they make you feel comfortable and everyone is welcomed and the service is great , i went with my mom to get highlights, hair dye , cut and hair blow, my mom is happy with her hair despite theres some spots was missing some highlights and her ends are burnt a bit and there some spots are orange but overall she did amazing on my mom’s hair and it was charged $330 ( they charge extra for tuning and she also used olaplex and told me “ she forgot to tell me she charged me extra for it and we didn’t ask for olaplex ) and they use bleach more than products to over charge and for me im more of a thick curly hair and i wanted highlights and dye she was gonna charge $600 just for these under “ my hair takes a lot of time and effort “ so i didn’t get a highlight, but i got dye, blow dry and flat iron but basically if you are a thick curly hair forget about having a good straight hair she didn’t do my roots at all and some of hair on the back didnt even get some dye, i would say we were over charged after talking to other people who usually goes to salons, i paid almost $800 for two people i was there from 12 to 7 pm. So basically if you a thick curly hair dont go there for anything for your hair you going to leave unsatisfied and you gonna pay a lot , they are more experienced in straight silky hair like you guys cant do thick hairly hair just say so a satisfying customer is more important than money But the henna artist is amazing i would definitely recommend...
