I recently visited this store and was excited to shop for Christmas decorations. However, I was disappointed to find that there were no ornaments or holiday items representing African American or other diverse cultures.
As a long-time supporter of businesses in Queens, I appreciate the diversity of our community, often called "The People’s Borough." Representation in holiday decorations is meaningful, not just for cultural pride but also for creating an inclusive shopping experience. Many potential customers, myself included, were unable to find items that resonated with us and left the store without purchasing anything.
I believe adding diverse holiday decorations, including Black Santas, nutcrackers, and ornaments, would greatly enhance your store's appeal. It would also show your commitment to serving the needs of all customers. Jembro has a wide variety of African American products! They understand that the neighborhood has changed! Read moreThis store opened recently on 63rd Road in Rego Park , Queens. I went into the store for the first time today; I saw them building and stocking the store but have not had a chance to go in since it opened I see they have other locations as well.
Right now they are selling mostly Christmas merchandise- cards, novelty t-shirts, etc. They will presumably always have seasonal merchandise. I saw a lot of hardware type items, as well as snacks and a whole range of general merchandise. Prices are reasonable.
The store is close to the Rego Park Mall. They have a parking lot they charge for, so you can certainly park there if you don't find street parking. Its also near the 63rd street subway station.
DII is a large store and though certainly not very fancy has a lot of items that are useful. Hopefully the store...

I stop in when I have my doctors appointments...I stock up Chamomile tea, disposable masks, hand sanitizers, soap and shampoo, candy for my neighbor's boys, and I bought several pairs of jeans...they are all $9.99...I bought shirts for my nephews and even T- shirts with band logos...I used to collect them back in the day...checking out was quick both times...even the last time when it was a little crowded...and the prices are fantastic...I have a double doctors' appointment again next week...I plan on stopping in again.
