We signed up for private dance lessons with Arthur Murray to choreograph a first dance for our wedding, as well as learn basic dance moves so we'd feel more natural on the dance floor on our big day. We mostly worked with Lexi in the private lessons, although we also took a few lessons with Crystal. Our package of private lessons came with unlimited group lessons, so we tried to take at least one group class a week - those were mostly taught by Ricardo. Everyone at Arthur Murray was fantastic and welcoming! As soon as we walked in the door, they were excited to see us and very encouraging. We never felt like our poor foot-eye coordination was being judged by any of the teachers. We learned how to waltz, tango, foxtrot, rumba, salsa, cha cha, as well as a few other dances, and learned how to know what type of dance to do with current music. Lexi was especially amazing - when we told her we liked two songs for our first dance she edited them together and choreographed our dance to work with the transition. Our first dance (and wedding) went great! We would definitely recommend Lexi and the whole Arthur Murray crew to anyone else hoping to learn how to dance for their wedding. Read moreHighly skilled staff, awesome studio and great community of dance enthusiasts! I've been going to this studio since May when the new owner took over. I started dancing 2.5 years ago as a form of exercise and to learn a new social skill. I now cannot think of a single day without dancing. Mostly, I have my teacher, Esther, to thank for my love of dancing. She is just incredible. I've also taken lessons from other teachers here and, in my view, they are all great. Of course they have different styles and strengths, so best is letting them know what you want so they can pair you with the right teacher. The new owner, Aleks, has been trying to build a strong team whose members complement each other. And, so far, he's done a great job! Mainly, their enthusiasm in teaching dance and their genuine care in each student's progress is off the charts. The studio hold parties and several group lessons every week so we, as students, get to interact with each other frequently. It is a very accepting and fun-oriented group of people. It truly feels like a small, happy dance family. I recommend it highly...
Read moreI truly don't understand their business. I was interested in taking one class a week through ClassPass. But they have a policy that you can't do that. They think that if I'm not paying them directly, I'm not paying at all, even though I paid for every class I did. They told me they were doing me a favor by giving me the option of taking two classes a month, and now even that is too much, and I can't do that anymore. So their classes are open in ClassPass but not for everyone. They want everyone to sign up for their membership; to be clear, the cheapest one is $149 a week. You do your math, but that's way too much. I enjoyed the classes, but their business model discriminates against people who don't want to do the membership, overcharges for a monthly membership, and doesn't have enough options; it's not flexible and outdated. They can't accommodate a paying customer's needs, something I have never...
