Renewing Spa — Local services in New York

As a tourist visiting the city, I quickly learned that even the best walking shoes won't subdue the soreness of walking all day. I don't even know how people living in the city do it but I'm guessing massages help.

My friends and I came here on a late saturday night almost close to their closing time. Despite our late arrival, the staff welcomed us and stayed past their shift to make sure my friends and I received the best service. They were super friendly and attentive and that made the experience that much better. One guy even missed the last train to Queens that night... so nice of him to stay :) I know how much of a hassle it is to miss the last train :(

I got a 20 minute foot massage and my friends did a combination of body and foot. The foot massage was painful but it was a good pain, the kind that leaves you feeling relaxed and better after the whole ordeal. You could tell them if you wanted the massage to be harder or softer. They do listen and make sure you're getting the most out of it.

Great service and staff :) They do accept credit card, but if you pay cash you don't have to pay tax. Finding this place might be hard since it's not super obvious. You have to buzz in twice because there are two doors and it's located upstairs. Definitely a great to way to spend the night to feel renewed for...

WOW. Just wow. I haven’t been here in over a year due to the pandemic, but a week in a hotel bed brought my and my neck here today for relief. This spot has been a regular haunt for several years for me (wow that makes me sound like such a city girl), and they’ve only improved since I last stopped in. If you’re looking for a proper, effective, no frills massage, then Renewing Spa is your place. Upon your arrival they’ll offer water, and ask your preferred pressure. A new addition (since I’ve been) is they ask if there’s any areas you’d like focused on during your time. Tommy worked with me today, and absolutely tore it up in the best way possible. I feel like a relaxed and sleepy marshmallow compared to the concrete cinderblock form in which I arrived. I’ve always been made to feel comfortable there, whether working with a female or male masseuse. The oils they use are also not sticky and I have never left feeling icky! I’m definitely never going a full year without visiting, ever again. 10/10, can’t recommend them enough!!!

Update as of 24/05/06 - they remain incredible. I worked with Tina this morning and she used some new techniques I’ve never felt before. I’d never come in the morning before and I think it’s my new favorite! So quiet, I was the only client there for a bit. I love...

Still celebrating bae's bday I thought to book couples massages. This place came highly recommended for years by my homegirl but I never got a chance to check them out, until now! Babyyyyyy let me tell u this place is a real gem for sure! Our reservation was for 11:30am but we ended up getting there earlier and it was as if they were waiting on us. She took us right to the back and to our room. She instructed us to get undressed to our undies and lay on the massage table. We did just that and once I popped my hole in the paper my masseuse was asking was I ready. Let me tell you he worked out each and every kink I had! Kinks in places I didn't even know I had he worked and smoothed out. I was worried about bae with his sciatica but he assured me he was good. This place is so clean and professional. They charge a card fee so make sure u bring cash to avoid this. It is on 8th Ave so parking is a nightmare and expensive but it's worth it so give yourself enough time to look. We walked out of there on clouds and I've never felt better. Def put this on your list...
