Read moreHow could waffles be so DENSE/hard that you have to saw at them with a knife, shouldn't they be fluffy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. I used to rave about the food at the bell, pre-pandemic and I had high hopes but it seems the pandemic has done a number on this place because I meet some friends for brunch and it was expensive and tasteless. The service was meh till the end we received the bill and there was a fee for using a charge card. WHAT CARD? We had not received our bill much more determined how we were going to pay and that charge was included as taxable money. There were no signs that we had seen at the time to say there was an additional charge fee and the woman "in charge"/not the manager was really unpleasant when we had asked about it. Sadly I must say I don't see myself or my friends returning any time soon. The good thing is that Chelsea/ NYC has quite a few restaurants to choose from especially ones that know how to make good waffles and other items to please the palate and make the tastebuds sing. I still don't understand why someone who is not a manager would get worked up that we initially asked a staff person what that charge was for? The staff member was pleasant and answered our question with no problem. The not the manager came over to us with A massive shoulder chip and say to us in such a condescending manner that "he is just a bus boy" as if he could not possibly answer our query. It was infuriating and rather insulting frankly. He is a member of the staff, he had answered the question without rancor or attitude yet this person attributed him to being just a bus boy as if that should explain something, I am not sure what actually. I think what really escalated a mediocre dining experience into a negative one was the tone and unpleasantness this not manager responded to us and how effortlessly they disregarded their staff. Not cool at all. We expect better from you Chelsea Bell. "Businesses that choose to add surcharges are required to follow protocols to ensure full transparency." I didn't see any transparency in how this fee was added...

I came here after work on a Friday with a friend. The host greeted us at the door and sat us at a good table. We opted to sit more inside towards the back as oppose to right in front. It is a little weird that their Happy Hour menu is only from Monday to Thursday. But they still have a really good variety of items and good prices.
The location itself is beautiful. They have a really nice bar. The seats were all high tops with booths along the wall. The table was beautifully set up and even had a candle on it. The bathroom was a little cringy and out dated but it worked.
We ended up ordering two appetizers. We got the nachos. It was okay. Nothing too too special. Everything was fresh and tasted good. We also ordered the pretzel. It was HUGE. Super soft and had great flavor. Tooo much course salt on top but that's just my preference, my friend didnt mind the salt. It was served with spicy cheese sauce and mustard, both good. The drinks were on POINT. I got the blood orange Margarita and it was delicious. My friend got the spicy pineapple Margarita and she absolutely loves that drink. I also ended up getting a patron and Coca-Cola. Strong, good.
Overall my experience here was great. I cant wait to return and try additional menu items. I highly recommend it here. They can accommodate groups of 2 or even groups of like 10 or more. The drinks are...
