I was a resident of this hall between 1980 and 1982 back when it wasn't so regimented. It was a much better time then. Not just freshmen, but variety of years. RA's were unobtrusive but there if you needed them. As for the complainers, I also lived in Rubin during the summers and the lack of air conditioning was not a problem. Noise? Terrible security and I am scared to still be living here.
