Just had an extremely rude and racist employee essentially harass me and my friend. She kept following us around. We weren’t doing anything wrong, but she came and rudely told us not to flick our hair onto the art even though we were a good distance from the art. We nodded and said okay, but she just rudely sighed and shook her head at us. Then, she kept loitering around the area we were in which and staring which made us so uncomfortable that we left. She even came to the door and continued to stare at us when we were outside on the stairs. This is unacceptable and people who racially profile young girls should not be employed such an institution. Had the absolute pleasure of eating in the dining room and having a look around this historic brownstone afterward . A wealth of history is at every corner especially in the library . The hospitality by everyone was wonderful . There is parlor upstairs that is beautiful and invites you on its own to grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile . When I ate in the basement dining room I felt as if I had stepped into a small corner of Europe . While building is quite lovely it’s the people that truly make the club a remarkable place to visit . Such a beautiful landmark. From the moment you enter you are taken back in time with its grand parlor, high ceilings, detailed architecture and art filled walls. The upstairs library is filled with unique books, paintings and the dual fireplaces would be any readers dream. Downstairs we enjoyed cocktails which was like being in an old tavern with wood beamed ceilings and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant was like eating in an old dining room and the food was superb. We had the cod with mashed potatoes and peas and the sauce was amazing. The bonus factor was being able to hear a performance in the parlor by The Twelfth Night ensemble.
