NYU School of Professional Studies — Attraction in New York

I ended up at SPS by coincidence, even though I belong to GSAS. To be honest, the quality of my Master’s in International Relations has been extremely disappointing — every day I regret making this investment. However, I have to acknowledge that my experience at SPS has been one of the few positive aspects during this difficult academic journey.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Kissane. She has always treated me as one of her own students: kind, honest, and transparent about the current realities of the field and how to grow as a professional. Although NYU has far fewer resources than it claims, she has consistently looked out for me, and I truly feel lucky to have met her. Having someone as accomplished as her care about a student like me has been genuinely moving.

During the summer program, I didn’t expect to have to carry my old computer to my internship. Even though NYU policies are very restrictive and students can’t keep loaner laptops for more than three days, Michelle D’Amico tried to find solutions for me. Eventually, we both discovered how little support NYU provides to students from diverse backgrounds.

Being here has often felt like a nightmare, and I genuinely regret spending my fellowship in a program as weak as the International Relations one. But I will always remember how Dr. Kissane treated me with dignity, respect, and care. She was a light in an otherwise...

So far, I've been to this location for one class towards a certificate program and was pleased with the class, though it was an intensive class, running 8.5 hours each Sunday for three weeks. The facility itself is nice and upgraded. Free WiFi is offered to students, but be sure to get the code at the security desk each time you arrive.
