Horrible Experience ā Unprofessional Service & Even Worse Management
I had an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this European Wax Center location, and I feel compelled to share itānot just because of the poor service during my appointment, but because of the dismissive, unprofessional behavior from management that followed.
I was serviced by an esthetician named Quinn, who initially came off as friendly and inquisitive, asking me personal questions about where I was headed and why I was getting waxed. That part was fineāuntil the waxing began. She was inefficient, inconsistent, and unskilled in her technique. She jumped between different body parts without completing any area cleanly, pulled wax painfully slow, and in ways that failed to remove the hair properly. I politely pointed out the missed areas multiple times during the session and again at the end, asking if she could clean up the patches that were still clearly unwaxed.
Thatās when the experience took a turn for the worse.
Instead of addressing my concern professionally, Quinn became defensive and hostile, told me to get out of the room, falsely claimed she had already spent two hours on me (she hadnāt), and insisted that no hair was left (which was visibly untrue). Her refusal to listen or correct the incomplete service was shocking.
But even more disturbing was the managerās response. When I asked the front desk to speak with a manager, one was called. Instead of taking a few minutes to hear both sides or even inspect the service, the manager spent ten minutes listening to the receptionist and refused to speak to me directly. She then insisted I pay full price, saying she ādidnāt know what the truth wasāādespite the obvious patches of hair still left unwaxed, which I showed to the front desk. Her only follow-up was, āIāll email you,ā as she walked awayāno acknowledgment, no solution, no accountability.
To top it off, I learned Quinn had been texting the manager during the service, complaining before I even left the roomācompletely unprofessional and inappropriate during such an intimate appointment.
This entire experience was humiliating, frustrating, and unacceptableānot because of a single estheticianās poor technique, but because her behavior was enabled and excused by the manager. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThese guys are great. I've been using EWC for a while but this one only opened up a few months back and I just heard about it this morning. So I went online and booked my appointment (super easy) and went in a few hours later.
First, the place is spacious and very clean, just like the other EWCs. The people at the front desk are gorgeous (I know, this doesn't matter but hey, it's true!) and very professionally dressed. I was checked in immediately and waited only a few minutes. I arrived 10 minutes early and actually went back several minutes before my scheduled appointment.
My aesthetician was Audra and she was a gem. She's very lively and had me laughing the entire time. I actually had a great time, which isn't what you'd expect when getting hair pulled out. But it was a hoot. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone considering making an appointment here. We actually ran over a tad because we were talking too much, so that says something.
Then on my way out I got to taking with the front desk people about phones and social media and stuff and they had me laughing too.
Overall a great experience. The facilities were clean, the people were friendly, and I'll definitely be back. By far my favorite EWC location, and my favorite waxing experience :) NYC is full of a lot of options, but I haven't found a better combination of price, hygiene, and...

I went as a pink wax so it was complimentary, but the people were exceptionally nice patient kind, and even informative. It was in a neighborhood that I didn't spend a lot of time in, but they made me feel welcome and let me take my time.
Brittany, the front desk person was more than friendly pretty, and more importantly so accommodating patient, and funny when we were catching up. Isaac explained to her my changes in the waxing world and going to another location that was no longer serving me. The trainer is this lovely woman with gorgeous hair with her trainee. He was so accommodating as I was scared about doing a bikini wax. They gently explained to me how it works were very helpful and not aggressive and took their time. They even turned the temperature down because the room was too cold. They also recommended some other pink waxing days, and I offered my services to see what I could do to pay them back and help them after being so generous and kind.
