Iâm writing this review after my second visit, and unfortunately, my experience hasnât been great. Normally, I wouldnât feel compelled to leave a review, but given the exceptionally high pricing compared to other salons in the area, I feel itâs important to share.
The European-style manicure and pedicure are certainly thorough, and Iâve generally been satisfied with the technical quality of the service. However, the overall environment feels overly casualâto the point where customer experience doesnât seem to be a priority. The pedicure setup, for example, is on a massage table rather than a proper pedicure chair, which is not only uncomfortable but also seems inaccessible for anyone with mobility or balance concerns.
During my first visit, my pedicure was smudged by the technician while she was doing my manicure, and I had to wait until the very end of my four-hour appointment for it to be fixedâwithout any drying equipment available. Even then, the polish wasnât fully dry when I left, and by the time I got home, it was already ruined. Hoping to avoid the same issue, I specifically requested to have my pedicure done first this time, but my request was declined. My service took three and a half hours, followed by an additional hour of waiting for my toes to air dry. When I asked if they had a fanâexpecting a proper drying deviceâthe technician handed me a paper fan and told me to fan my feet myself.
After waiting an hour, my pedicure still wasnât dry, and I was offered the option to have it wiped off and return another time to pay $60 for a redo (which is the discounted price). Even after all that waiting, when I got home and took my socks off, the pedicure was rough and still smudged, particularly on my big toes. They applied a 20% discount to my service, and the technician declined a tip despite me offering multiple times, but overall, the experience was disappointing. I donât have time to return for a fix, nor does it make sense to spend extra time waiting for polish to air dry when standard drying equipment should be available.
For a service that costs almost $200 and takes nearly four hours, I would expect a more comfortable and accommodating experienceâat the very least, proper drying equipment and a pedicure setup that prioritizes both comfort and accessibility. While the technical work was solid, the lack of attention to the overall client experience makes it unlikely that...
Read moreI had such a great experience at Russian Nails Astoria! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time.
Anna was meticulous and professionalâshe took her time shaping, cleaning, and painting to perfection. The color selection was impressive, and the quality of the products they use is top-notch.
What I appreciated most was the attention to detail and the level of hygieneâthey sanitized everything and used clean tools, which gave me a lot of peace of mind.
I left feeling pampered and so happy with how my nails turned out. Iâll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to my friends....
Read moreI had the best experience with Anna for a Russian gel manicure! She's the first technician based in Astoria, and her work is incredible. My first manicure lasted an amazing 6.5 weeks with no chipping, and my natural nails grew out so healthy. I received so many compliments on my nails throughout the weeks. Highly recommend her for anyone looking for a high-quality...
