Boutique owners BEWARE! This company is crooked, scams business owners, and the CEO is rude and nasty! They will charge you $1000 to sign an exclusive contract to sell on your site, citing a bunch of false promises about how much you will sell through them. They told us we would be selling $3-$5k per months and I had several months go by when I was only selling 2 items at a time!
Here's what they conveniently dont tell you before you sign up:
-They will try to charge you $50 if you can't fulfill an order or cant ship it within a few days
-They ONLY send traffic to your boutique and merchandise if you send traffic to them via your social media site and official websites. Your merchandise will be buried in the listings, and don't expect your merchandise to be on the what's new page at all, because it won't!
-If you don't use their photostudios they send less traffic to you as well.
-Usually those photoshoots have to be booked a month or more in advance.
-They will randomly change the guidelines for photography and not inform the boutiques.
The last point was the final straw for me. I had just invested in a new backdrop and props, and followed the guidlines on the image upload page to a tee. All my photos were rejected because they had changed said guidelines and didnt bother to tell anyone. They told me I could photoshop the background out of my photos and it would be accepted. So I spent more money to have a graphic designer do so. I reuploaded my listings with new photos and my listings were approved and went up on the site.
Or so I thought.
A few weeks later I realized two of my items were missing from my shoptiques page. I knew I had uploaded those; I had even linked to them from my facebook (as they required us to do). I went back and found those links, and the links were being REDIRECTED to OTHER BOUTIQUES WITH THE SAME ITEMS. No one bothered to inform me that my listings were being deleted, let alone why, so all that time I had been promoting other boutiques on my social media pages :( These were dresses that were very popular at the moment. And unsurprisingly, all those listings were using their photo studios, which meant they were earning an extra 5% from those shops.
When I contacted support they stated that they took down my merchandise because every once in a while they delete listings that don't comply with their photo standards. Which is interesting because all my other merchandise was not taken down when the photos all looked the same. Not to mention the fact that the had already approved the photos! And how can you penalize someone for not meeting standards that arent even posted anywhere on your page, or at least emailed to us? It's EXTREMELY shady and an obvious scam.
In the end I barely recouped the $800. I also spoke with Olga, the CEO, at one point before leaving and she was condescending and rude to me for expressing my displeasure with the site. This company is disgusting and not trustworthy. Don't buy from them and definitely don't consign your...
Read moreI guess it's good for consumers because Shoptiques allows their customers to return things that have clearly been worn and then tell us, the boutique, to take it to the dry cleaners. Really?? They allow the consumer to return things well outside of the return period but who pays for it NOT SHOPTIQUES. No, no, no, they pass their mistakes onto US the boutiques; who without us, Shoptiques has no value, no revenue, no business and would fail to exist. But they fail to recognize this and treat us less than thou. Whatever mistake Shoptiques makes, it's OK, they just deduct it from pending payments and they make it impossible for you to contact them. They make you email but never respond or respond with some idiot comment 2-3 weeks later and so it continues, endlessly. They have your money and do not care. They don't care that they mistakenly refund a customer for an item that the customer still has, they don't care because they just deduct it from the boutiques pending payments and then avoid you like the plague. Why it's 2 months later and Shoptiques cannot establish that the customer has the product and has not paid for it is beyond me. But Shoptiques has their commission so what's the rush!! You'd think a company that claims they're doing so well would swallow their obvious mistake/pride but they clearly lack integrity!! So, BOUTIQUES BEWARE. Don't partner with a platform that you cannot contact by phone, there's a reason for that. If they drop the ball, you will pay for their mistake. They will make up rules as they go along to justify their shortcomings and then avoid you and string you along forever all over $53....REALLY??!! Apparently so.... I've been with them for 2 years and I'm sincerely disgusted and in total disbelief that they treat one this...
Read moreAVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - I have had a successful business for over 17 years and pride myself on the business choices I make. However, this company knows how to misrepresent themselves and make you feel they offer the answer to take you to the next level of business. I signed a contract prematurely because of pressure and immediately tried to cancel. I wanted my accountant to look over the contract for loopholes (which there are many) TOO LATE!!!!!!!!! I was charged $850 plus $125 WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF SIGNING! I never received any of the equipment they were charging me for and had to pay for the next 12 months. Along with having to pay for services I could not process I had to endure months of harassing phone calls to myself and staff. My credit card company could not erase the charges because of a tiny loophole in the contract but also told me they are a TOTAL SCAM. Every month they would change something in their spelling so the charge that was flagged would not process but the new spelling would go thru. Whatever you do, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY!!!!!!!! A loss of over $2400 has taught me an expensive lesson, and seeing that charge go on my account every month for nothing makes my blood boil. STAY AWAY FROM THESE...
