I had a delayed review, and this is regarding my experience over a week ago and that’s why there is no transaction history from the time period you mention. But it was because I had an unfavorable experience with a worker, wasn’t completely horrible but I don’t think they were particularly helpful.
I was initially told by the person checking ID that it should be ok that I did not have cash or a physical debit card on me because there was another method of payment I could use when checking out if I signed up. Once I was ready to checkout, I had asked the budtender for some clarification and mentioned that I had a gift card on my Apple Pay and mentioned that the ID person had mentioned there was some method I could use to pay and he was unhelpful and just said no that I would need a physical debit card or cash. I went back to the ID person to ask for clarification on what they had meant earlier and then went back inside to proceed with the payment method of how she mentioned (connecting through plaid and signing up for that payment method).
I think that even if I did not have the details completely correct, when I was trying to ask about this alternative form of payment the budtender should have been more receptive or explain that I could have used that. Because he was clearly familiar when I tried to use this afterwards, thus why he came across as unhelpful and could have mentioned this right off the bat when it seemed like I was struggling with my knowledge of how to pay. I understand mistakes happen, but I still don’t think the customer service was great from this experience and would have appreciated a bit more warmth and helpfulness. Otherwise I thought there was a decent...
Read moreFirst ever review because this needed to be heard.
Went in and purchased two things, came out to 69.00, and in my if you use a credit card it is rounded up to the nearest 5. The transaction finished and the dude at the counter asked me "do you need a bag" "do you need a lighter" and I said "no I need my change". And when I said thank you he didn't even say anything, like he was upset that he couldn't scam me.
The point is not the amount of money, it was only 1 dollar, it's the principle. I am reading the reviews of this place now and I see some people complaining that they round up to the nearest 5, but don’t know that is the law for credit cards and the dispensary is supposed to give you that money back. Most places will tell you, but this place just had a notice on the credit card machine that you accept.
I was about to say if they tried to rip me off, imagine how many other people they do it too, and before I even spend 5 minutes reading about this place, I see that review, unreal. Idk if he just assumed I was a tourist, but completely egregious behavior as an establishment, unacceptable, would...
Read moreWhat I've learned about reviews in my 62 years is to not take them into account. This a very new market so I expect bumps in the road. I've had my share of unfavorable experiences with all of the dispensaries in NYC. Being that they are all walking distance from my home, I made it my business to visit them all (the legal ones). I can write reviews about my experience be it good or bad, but I choose to take in consideration the amount of dedication and due diligence it must take to operate a retail dispensary with so many negative people and egregious regulations. I wish all of the businesses much success. It's very disappointing that the retail stores have to take the slack for the farmers & cultivators' product. My advice is to target your complaints to the proper people. These dispensaries are truly not in control of what they are allowed to sell, the state is. So, if you took the time to understand the process you wouldn't blame the retail stores. The newly renovated lounge...
