The Red Lion | NYC — Restaurant in New York

This is hands down the worst place I have ever been to and I mean it when i say this. We ordered 2 steaks and a burger which took 3 times to explain and go over with the first waitress. 20 minutes another waitress walks up and asks us to repeat the order. Then 30 minutes or more they walk up with a burger, 15 minutes minutes later a steak with wrong sides and sauce, and then I asked about the second steak and she said 5 minutes , another 20 minutes I walk up to the management and tell them that it has been an hour since my order and when they asked the waitress she said she hasn’t punched it in. How is that even possible ? She told us 5 minutes it will be ready ? Was she just taking a piss ?

I swear I am not lying about this. They were not den apologetic and said we will make it now give us 15 minutes, I refused as it has been well over an hour since the original order. We also ordered beers and they were late every single time. We order a last round of beers and it took about 20 minutes so we walked up and cancelled the order and left. Not even an apology.

This is the worst service I have had in Bahrain hands down and I honestly mean everything that I have said and it is all true.

Please do not go to this place. One star is...

The place sucks because of aggressive drunkers and rude security who fail to do their job right. While ordering drinks at the bar, I was attacked by a drunk customer, who tried talking to me and did not like that I ignored him. In a moment, his friend calmed him down. But then a security man came and asked me (!) to leave the pub. He asked ME to leave but not the drunk attacker, as it would be expected in such case! The security person refused to show his ID or badge, he refused to explain the reason he wanted me to leave. Even though he acknowledged that I was not an attacker but the one who was attacked, he kept insisting that I should leave. He promised to tell me the reason when we go outside the pub, but when I went out, he said I can not get back in and closed the door right in front of me, without any explanation. And then, when I opened the door to get back in, he used physical force to get me out of the pub... Such never happened to me not just in NYC but in any city in the world. How come, Red Lion, you hire such people to work as security in...

I’ve been living in NYC for years, and this was my first time visiting this bar, unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had in the city.

On July 18, 2025, around 11 PM, I paid the entrance fee, but the staff at the door failed to stamp my hand. I stepped outside briefly, and when I tried to return, a security guard fiercely pushed me out without giving me a chance to explain. It was aggressive, rude, and completely unnecessary.

When my female friend tried to speak up, another security guard dismissed her by saying, “It’s a man talk,” which was not only unprofessional but blatantly sexist.

I had done nothing wrong, yet I was treated with disrespect and force. This kind of behavior from the security team is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. If someone in charge sees this, I’m open to speaking further, and I encourage you to check your cameras and review how your staff treated me. I hope no one else has to go...
