I am editing my below response since you responded to me. First of all, your defensiveness that a 10 pack per month works for most students says so much, it says that you don't care about accommodating other types of people. The majority of your classes are young women with endless time looking for a simple workout. I liked it for many years because that was me for many years. NOW, I have a child and a demanding job and it's impossible for me to make 10 classes in one month. I never noticed the fine print because I didn't need to ALSO, no other premiere studio in NYC has this insane policy (not Barry's, not Nofar, etc.) so I didn't even think about it. If you don't care about evolving with your clients, then just say that, but it doesn't mean you're not a bad business owner. YOU ARE. This level of customer service is LOW and it will cost you your clients in the long run. I had reached out directly over email for months to try and rectify and you guys took weeks to respond and were not helpful. I have moved on to a studio that doesn't have the same policy and the beauty is, it's a much better class. So maybe just take my feedback and do better. -- Here's my original post: The absolute worst studio. All of them. I started going somewhere else and realized I had wasted YEARS with this place, bad instruction and lazy classes. What started my frustration was that my 10 pack expired after 2 months, which is just nuts. They gave me three more weeks to use it. When I cancelled two classes at the end of the extension because I was sick they charged me $15 on top so I paid $75 a class and couldn't use them because it was the last few days of my extension. I guess my fault for not using it but that timeline is diabolical!! Absolute hatred for this type of business practice so I tried a new spot and...
Read moreI've been going to New York Pilates off and on for about 8 years. (I remember when the WV location was on West 3rd Street!) This is by far my favorite Pilates studio and the only one for which I'll fork out the money. I prefer Reformer to mat Pilates, which is what they offer. The instructors and staff are quintessential New York cool (but not too cool). The classes are challenging and effective. Honestly, the only time I've ever seen real results from working out is from these classes and working with a personal trainer - and this is cheaper! If done consistently, it really leans you out and defines your muscles in a very dancer-esque way. They play vibey music, which I prefer to the typical instrumental-yogi-type of music. The time really flies by when you are here. I've recommended NYP to so many friends and have made more than a few converts. And I cannot forget to mention the merch - overpriced, but so cute an on brand. As always, I'm looking forward to my next class. (Note for NYP: Please bring back Reformer III & the stretch/restore class - those both...
Read moreSomehow missed me checking in even though I talked to the man up front several times, gave him my full name and told him exactly which class time I was taking. I assume he was distracted chatting with his coworkers but idk. Then charged me $48 for a missed reservation which they refused to refund because they “couldn’t confirm my attendance” until I sent a screenshot of my Life360 location history. (???) For $250 a month this was ridiculous amount of hoops to jump through. Believe your customers. Also the NYP studios (at least Bowery and West Village) are way too small and the reformers are sooo close together that you can’t do half the exercises without perfectly timing them with those next to you anyways. Also music sucks. Very mediocre experience and terrible customer service in and...
