I have never written an online review before and, quite honestly, always found it peculiar and wondered why people did it. However, after my appointment with Dr. Aguebor yesterday, I understand why a person would be compelled to do so. He is and will be the only dentist that I will ever write a review for because, after yesterday, I have made him my permanent dentist and I truly believe in him, consider him to be of great value to his patients and his community around him, and want to see his practice continue to grow and succeed.

I came into his office after having one of the most devastating weeks of my life after a week-long, harrowing experience with another dentist who ruined my teeth. I was anxious, frustrated, livid, depressed, the entire spectrum of emotions. And, when I sat down in Dr. Aguebor's chair to speak with him about what I had experienced, my goals for my teeth, and the range of ways to meet those goals, he was able to make me feel safe and at ease. He was an excellent listener and communicator. He is very knowledgeable and cares about educating his patients. He is upfront about costs, which is refreshing. He is extremely professional. He also has a very relaxed, pleasant, and fun energy. Who doesn't want to sing along with their dentist and discuss their love of different cultures and traveling the world? He is incredibly talented and skilled. When I was doing my research on dentists, I saw someone describe him as having "the hands of an angel," and I remember thinking "what drama and hyperbole; this is too much and why I’m skeptical of reviews.” The irony that I would be sitting in his chair a few days later, reflecting on that comment once he was working on my teeth, laughing at myself because I was repeating those very same words in my head given how gentle, careful, and methodical he was.

It was a breath of fresh air to see someone so committed to his craft and his patients. And, that is, above all, what is most impressive about Dr. Aguebor and what drew me to his practice even more: it is truly admirable when you encounter someone with that much passion, commitment, and love for what they do. It is inspiring but also inspires your confidence in that person. And, I not only experienced that passion and care from him myself but I witnessed him showing an immense amount of passion and care to every single patient that walked through the door, despite a bustling schedule of patients for the day. Equally, I appreciated his commitment to educating his broader community about oral health. Never did I imagine that a dentist, of all people, could have such an impact on me and lift my spirits the way that he did. I would have balked at the thought if someone suggested this to me given how much people view a visit to the dentist with great trepidation and disdain. (Plus, we really underestimate how much we are affected by our teeth.) But, Dr. Aguebor lifted my spirits and changed the way that I view dentists.

If you love your teeth and care about your oral health, you must entrust them to the care of Dr. Aguebor. You will be pleased that you did. I am. And, now, I look at my unfortunate experience with the previous dentist as a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to find an exceptional dentist who I am happy to support and...

I went to this place on July 20th, 2023. And it was truly a nightmare experiences. It seems he gave me something I was highly allergic to. And I was in tears and pain my whole procedure. In the middle of me crying non-stop. He stop and had me sign a non-disclosure agreement. As I am under medication and in pain wanting him to stop. It’s not a year to two years. Those fill ins came all out and now I am in pain. I went there experiencing no teeth pain at all. Just a teeth cleaning……. Now I can’t chew without there being pain. This is after visiting this place. I have been traumatized from this experience I am afraid to go to another dentist to have them look at my teeth. I truly truly recommend everyone to stop going to him. He is making your teeth a lot worst than when you came. I will go to another dentist and I hope they can fix whatever it is this guy done to my teeth. He has no idea what he is doing. And I believe whatever he did in the ATL is the reason he is practicing in NYC. Please please please beware of this practice place. He is ruining your teeth. Have no compassion. Had my mouth wide open with a dog in the room. While I was in tears. I truly mean pain and he did not stop other than having me sign paper work in the middle of my mouth wide open. And under medication…… This guy is a horrible person. And this truly scar me. BEWARE!! All these reviews are not people going for second opinions after this guy does work to your teeth. Please beware he digs down to the point your nerve is expose like mine. I Pray the damage done here can be fixed without a Tooth canal I never needed until coming here. And you will be hearing from my insurance. And me after I have someone take a look at the damages done from this place. And he knows exactly what I’am talking about. Wow. I wish I could give Dr. Aguebor (Dr. A) more than 5 stars. He deserves 10! My experience was amazing, from the moment I walked in through the door till the very end of my visit everyone was extremely warm, welcoming, and attentive to my needs. My experience started with a warm welcome from his very nice front desk staff. She was professional and very respectful. Afterwards, once I was called back into the exam chair, Dr. A's dental assistant then obtained X-ray's. She was also friendly but very knowledgeable. She briefly asked what brought me into the office and other general questions about my oral health. I was due for a routine visit and based on reviews online I decided to come see Dr. A. When Dr. A came to the chair, he was absolutely professional and extremely knowledgeable as well. My previous experience with dentists have been either they are silently working in my mouth without much conversation/education or they simply seem to not have the time to answer questions. The whole time Dr. A was providing me with information regarding what he found on his exam and what would be the best treatment option. I felt extremely comfortable with his advice and appreciate the time he took to provide me with these details. I trusted his recommendations and believed them to be what was best for my overall oral health. Also, I have never seen a better duo! Dr. A and Sweetie seemed to be perfectly in-sync; a sign that they both really trust each other and are comfortable with one another.
