We came to NYC for my brothers wedding and my mother called to find out how much it would be for her and I to get blow dries (she told them that we both have long hair.) They said 50, but when she went to pay they jacked the price to 70, claiming that the price was for a 'wedding party' - this had been mentioned on the phone, and no such wedding party price was quoted. So I asked the receptionist if they really were just adding 20$ to each total because we told them it was for a wedding, and she changed her story and said it was because we had a lot of hair. Maybe they should have given a price range then, instead of saying it would be 50 flat, dependent upon the clients hair. Meanwhile, my hair fell flat within an hour and is already frizzing up because the stylist didn't use enough product. He also stuck my hair clip on the counter and I forgot to take it back, and when I went by an hour later to get it they had thrown it out because "it was just...there..." SMH overpriced hipster doofuses...

This was my first time going to this salon and the first time with Lizzie. The staff and front desk associate were so incredibly nice and accommodating. It made me feel immediately welcome the second I came in. Lizzie was absolutely fantastic. She listened to what I was looking for and asked me questions to ensure that she was doing what I had envisioned. She was friendly and easy to talk to and I feel that she really took time and care to do the best job possible. She was even able to squeeze in a haircut even though it wasn’t booked originally. My hair color and cut is exactly what I was looking for. Lizzie spent time to explain what products she recommends for my hair type but did not push me to buy them which I appreciated. The salon atmosphere was very relaxed and I felt comfortable chatting or just being quiet and enjoying the service. I live in the area and scheduled a first time appointment on the website, and the next day realized it was for the incorrect day. I called the salon mentioning this and asked if I could reschedule for a later time that day or the following. I was told I would receive a call back, but instead received a long text message letting me know I would be charged the full price for services instead of allowing me to reschedule. I understand why strict rescheduling policies exist, but this salon took an impersonal approach and did not make an exception despite me mentioning that I live in the neighborhood and was looking forward to trying their services.
