My experience today at this location (Brooklyn) was beyond outrageous:
I placed an order online around 6:00 PM and came to pick it up around 6:15-20 PM. When I entered, I stood for several minutes at the empty counter, watching the one employee who was making burgers without even looking up at the customers walking in. From time to time, she was being rude to delivery drivers, sending them to the pickup window and slamming the door in their faces after handing over the orders.
All other customers who came in or were waiting for online orders stood around the empty counter, not understanding what to do. We were all running back and forth — from the counter to the pickup window outside — but the employee ignored everyone! People had no idea where or how to place an order, where to pick it up, or how long the wait would be. There was no communication with the customers at all, and no one responded to any questions.
Maybe this employee was having a rough day, and I don’t know why she was working the shift alone, but she was clearly overwhelmed. As a result, she was preparing food with obvious irritation, ignoring people, and being rude to customers!
My order ended up sitting there ready for over 15-20 minutes while I was present the whole time — and no one gave it to me until I raised a fuss.
PLEASE TAKE IT INTO YOUR CONSIDERATION!!! MY TODAY’S (NOT ONLY MINE) EXPERIENCE IN YOUR RESTAURANT WAS AWFUL COMPLETELY RUINED MY DAY! I came in for the first time… NEVER COMING BACK! Improve your service! That was insane, I haven’t seen anything like that! I didn’t even want to eat the food after that… This all happened with a female employee (who didn’t tell me her name, though I was asking her) working at the kitchen alone today (Sunday 07/06 between 6pm and 6:40 pm)
P.S. Your employee also gaslit me! When FINALLY handing me my order, which included an extra patty (for which I PAID while ordering online), she insisted that you don’t even make double-patty burgers and that she added it as an exception, even though that option clearly exists on your website and I paid $7 for it! Also she asked me “to show respect” !!!!! Apparently demanding a service to be provided and asking questions about an order you paid for considered “disrespectful” ……….. Unfortunately, I was shown ZERO respect from the very beginning at...
Read moreWalking into Slutty Vegan feels like stepping into a celebration of indulgence, flavor, and good vibes. For someone like me who doesn't typically venture into the world of faux meats, I approached this meal with curiosity and an open mind—a birthday gift from a thoughtful friend deserves nothing less.
Let’s start with the star of the show: the vegan bacon cheeseburger. This burger arrived stacked high and brimming with promise. The first bite delivered a symphony of flavors. The patty boasted a perfectly charbroiled taste that instantly transported me to backyard cookouts, where the grill sizzles, the air smells smoky, and the vibe is all about good times. The seasoning was spot-on, a harmonious blend of smoky, savory, and just a whisper of sweetness that tied everything together. The plant-based bacon added a salty crunch that played well with the melty vegan cheese and fresh toppings. It was a flavor bomb that made me question why I hadn’t explored this culinary avenue sooner.
Then there were the fries—golden, crispy, and satisfying. Each fry had just the right amount of crunch on the outside and softness on the inside, the kind that makes you go back for “just one more.” But halfway through the fries, I reminded myself: while this meal hit all the nostalgic notes of comfort food perfection, it was still, unmistakably, a cheat meal. A delicious one, sure, but the richness and saltiness were enough to make me pause and savor in moderation.
Equally as satisfying as the food was the service. The cook who prepared my meal was incredibly friendly and patient, embodying the warmth that makes dining out such a joy. They answered every question with care, making the experience feel personal and welcoming.
Here’s the bottom line: Slutty Vegan delivers on taste, texture, and nostalgia. This is where you go when you’re craving that bold, unapologetic comfort food that doesn’t hold back. For me, this was a treat—a flavorful detour from my usual routine. The takeaway? It’s a perfect spot for those moments when you want to celebrate, indulge, and treat yourself, but I’d keep it in the rotation as an occasional indulgence. The sweet spot here is how Slutty Vegan balances a plant-based twist with flavors that satisfy those...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place, got excited when my friend told us about it. Looks like a great place from the outside, smelling like a regular burger joint. We came with a big group, but the first thing we noticed is that there isn't any place to sit, what it could be a space with long stools, and a long table is a branded store. We settled for not sitting down and waited to order, got our turn, and ordered the food and... we waited and waited. Realizing it's not a fast food place (but it looks like), I wasn't counting the time, but it was more than 15 minutes for 2 burgers and the "chicken strips. ".... while we waited, one set of friends arrived, and since there weren't any seats (and we were still waiting), they decided to find somewhere else to eat. Kept waiting, and the other set of friends arrived, we finally just got the food and started to eat it there, hoping the wait was worth it. But it was, "Just ok." The hype and the wait weren't worth it. We had to eat standing up and finish our food in the car. The kids' strips weren't good. My kid tried one and didn't finish the rest. I had the "one night stand" and added guacamole. The raw onions took over the flavor of the burger, not salted enough, the fake bacon was a thin strip of flavorless something and I wish I had noticed that the special sauce wasn't included with the combo, so drenching in ketchup to finish the food, I ate it because I was super hungry. I felt a little spice flavor at the end of my burger, which was nice. Fries were delicious, I liked the seasoned dust (mostly garlic powder and salt), but the kid didn't like the seasoned fries. Overall, everyone's experience was "meh." The looks and the brand are great but the service and the food need a...
