We went into this overpriced dump for dinner and placed an order to go at the same time we placed our table order. Any simple change or request seemed to be a problem . If the item was available on the sides menu it could be ordered for an upcharge like lettuce or water or onion or a napkin or salt or a fork or ordering your dinner.Everything is a problem was the motto.. I tried to have a positive attitude but the staff was so miserable to deal with they made it impossible. The atmosphere was nothing special and kind of thrown together without much thought. I would classify it as a dump .The service was beyond poor with a side of inconvience was what they emulated with the disengaging attitude. The food was edible at best but barely.Nothing memorable about decor just shabby cheap. . When the check came , we paid and started to get ready to leave and I realized they forgot to bring my to go order that I placed when we placed our table order for someone who didn’t join us . They didn’t seem to have a problem remembering to charge us for the correct entree on the check. They said it’ll be one minute and she ran to start preparing the order that was completely forgotten about. After standing there waiting for another 20 minutes for the order as we had already paid for but they hadn’t even gotten it ready ! It was given to us finally and we drove home about an hour outside the city to find it wasn’t the chicken entree I had ordered it was some kind of a wrap filled with some kind of meat resembling dog food . . So I ended up paying for the item I did order but was given one that was substantially less . Apparently they FORGOT the rest of our order but didn’t forget to charge us not even realizing they gave us a wrap instead of an entree !. So clearly their uncaring attitude magnifies their disorganization and interest in only your money and how they can scam you. When they gave us the bill they were done with us! I have nothing good to say about this place except that I will not ever be returning. With their resturant practices you have no idea what you are eating! Someone should inform this place that when a mistake is their fault that the correct thing to do is offer an apology for their mistake or not if the mistake was intentional and they were having issues about wanting to have the final say . Save yourself the trouble and don’t eat at this disgusting restaurant! I’m surprised people eat here at all ! I know I won’t be and when asked I will be sure to recommend...

It was ok. The food was pretty dry. The hummus was slicked with olive oil after being made. The pita was not fresh. The falafel was green which usually indicates the ingredients were well chosen, but it was fried too long and became dry and flavorless. The shawarma was dry and overcooked. The presentation was nice and the wine hot apple cider was good.

The sauces that came with the "taco" could have included something less bland, it was a small cup of vegetables, one of hummus and one babaganush. No red sauce.

The brightness of the digital menus was too high.

The flan dessert was really just a poorly set coconut custard on raspberry jam. It was refreshing after the food but nothing spectacular. The halva dessert was very dry and sweet, and on top of a more dry base with nothing to balance the sweet dry and huge serving. Maybe it had ice cream on top but it seemed to be a thick one with a lot of sugar.

The service was great.

The quality of the ingredients was very good, it was the cooking and spices that could have been better. The bread was good. I'm sure if I had ordered the vegetarian cous cous it would have been better. It was definitely better than most food carts.

Based on my experience at nana good eats I know that Mediterranean food has a much larger variety of garnishes and toppings, and I would hope to see some of that at a...

We'd eaten here many times before covid and were looking forward to returning. Mistake; while the food was quality, as we remembered it, the service made our visit a disaster. First, one of our party was left staring at our meals as she waited 15 min for hers; second, one of the meals that did arrive was cold; third, when we complained about that the waitress' body language conveyed her dissatisfaction with us; fourth, instead of bringing us the dessert menu once we finished the main meal she brought us the check (we'd actually intended to order something); fifth, when we commented on that - already agitated, clearly - the waitress shouted at us that we were rude and announced she was finished with us; sixth, since they were finished with us one of our party had to go to the register to pay - and was given the silent treatment. Ps - the place was fairly empty while all this was happening. Bottom line: nostalgia is nice, but Manhattan is full of good restaurants that treat their customers...

Only been here once, but it was a solid 5 stars - very authentic middle eastern flavors. I normally don’t ever give a 5. Food: the hummus speaks the truth, and when we tried it along with their pita bread, it was SO GOOD. Babaganoush was great. Roasted eggplant was simple but great flavors. Also tried the pitas with chicken, fish, lamb, and falafels (pitas are called tacos in their menu for whatever reason). All were AMAZING. A family member also had a wine glass, and was good. Service: normal, not slow, nothing to detracts from the food. Courteous and kind, waitress never made it feel like we were bothering. Let us taste wine before ordering. Keep it up! Atmosphere: low lit, chill calm vibe, relaxing, well decorated, almost felt candle lit and inviting. Small place. Tables are a bit snug, close to other party, but that’s NYC. Restroom was clean. A bit loud, but that’s just people having a good time. Chill middle eastern music in background. Few tables outside as well. We ate inside.

Dropped by for a lunchtime takeout of their highly rated falafel. Service was excellent. Both the waiter and the owner listed to my dietary request for no nuts or tomatoes. Alcohol served, eat in and sidewalk dining available. A kosher establishment. Thus no pork. Halal. Many customers were celebrating events: birthdays and friendships. Many small dishes are available for sharing. Many vegan, kosher, halal, pescatarian and vegetarian options avaliable. The only drawbacks, portions are small for the price..And a bit more spices could be added. I came prepared with my own homemade pepper sauce since I love my foods Caribbean seasoned. My falafel platter included 4 crunch and freshly made falafel, 2 mini pita, cucumber and red onion chow with sliced pickles. Cost about $17.00 before tip. I would definitely return and request more spices and seasoning added on my next trip. Happy hour available

We recently visited Hummus Kitchen and had a good experience overall. We started with the Fattoush salad and Baba ghanoush; both were fresh and flavorful. For our main dishes, we ordered the falafel and a kebab wrap. The falafel had great flavor, though it was a bit overcooked and slightly dry. The kebab wrap was satisfying and nicely seasoned. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but it seemed like managing multiple customers at once was a bit challenging. We had to repeat a couple of our requests, but the server remained polite throughout. The atmosphere was good, but I would have preferred music that matched the Middle Eastern food culture rather than standard Western pop music. Something more traditional could enhance the experience.
