If you are looking for a reliable review of this apartment building, you have found it! I say this because I have lived in the Ritz Plaza (under Stonehenge Management) for OVER 13 and a half YEARS- and plan to continue my stay as long as possible!! The reasons I love the Ritz are extensive, but I will do my best to condense them here. 1) The leasing team is amazing. Geraldine, Victoria and Frank were excellent to work with this past Fall when I was hoping to move to a different unit in the same building. Not only did they answer all of my inquiries right away (some which were very complex!), but they were willing to meet with me in person to help me hash out which apartment would be best for me, and they were so helpful in discussing the different options I was weighing. I felt completely supported and welcomed by them through every step of the process, and am grateful to them for their wonderful customer service! 2) The concierge and doormen are incredible, and they are the individuals that make this apartment become your home almost immediately. Anthony, Rob, Robert, Roland, Tony and John go out of their way to get to know you, accommodate you with packages and questions you might have, and provide the most professional, efficient, warm, and personalized service you can dream of. If you are the type of person to chat with them and share details about your life with them, they will absolutely remember those details and later ask you about your work, classes, friends, etc- they truly care. I cannot imagine living here without these wonderful guys who have become such an essential part of my daily life (and dear friends). 3) The superintendent (Albert) and his maintenance team are equally wonderful! Whenever you need a quick fix of something in your apartment, they are there in a flash and so helpful and friendly. The apartments are in brand new condition, so you won't need these guys often-- for me, it has been something as simple as helping me to change a lightbulb that was out of my reach, and they have been so kind in making these sometimes-pesky tasks as easy as possible. It's also a joy to pass them around the halls and lobby, as they're also so friendly and will get to know you personally. 4) The building itself is beautiful. The gym, laundry room, social lounge, and lobby have all been renovated recently and feel sparking new and refreshing to walk into after a long day of work. The entire grounds and common areas are kept absolutely immaculate- mirrors, rugs, floors, walls, elevator doors-you would never be able to tell how many people pass in and out of each area every day. The apartments themselves are amazing: beautiful hard wood floors, huge windows overlooking the heart of NYC, crown molding (in some units), state of the art kitchen appliances, and spacious closets. It is a dream to live here. 5) The area is phenomenal! If you love NYC, there is no better place to be: you're right in the middle of all of the action, plus everything is just a few steps from your door! You can catch an 8:00 PM broadway show on a whim by buying tickets at 7:45 because you're literally around the corner! You can order food at any hour of the night, and you'll find hundreds of places open and ready to deliver! There is a Duane Reade, Rite Aid, multiple Starbucks, Food Emporium, and tons of other convenience stores located minutes from your front door. Times Square is a block away if you're up for some shopping, but 8th and 9th avenues are much less touristy and just packed with neat restaurants and bars that the locals love! Every subway line you can imagine is here, so commuting ANYWHERE is a breeze! Midtown West is truly a special neighborhood that is exciting and comfortable at the same time, and I am so lucky to have lived in this amazing building for so long! I love the Ritz Plaza so much that I'd be happy to chat more about the building, the area, or anything about my experience living here, so feel free to find me on facebook if you have any...
Read moreI would never rent from any building owned or managed by Stonehenge again. Poor management. And the building at 101 W 15th Street had a huge rodent problem when I was there in beginning of 2021. There are mice in the walls and they would chew through the walls and enter my apartment.
I started getting mice in my place in January 2021. I told management but it was never fixed. Well, it ended with me having to flee my apartment and get a hotel room in mid February because there were 8 mice running all over my apartment. They were on my counter, in my vitamix, on my utensils, on top of my microwave. They had eaten through my dog's dog food bag, food on the counter. And I kept a very clean apartment.
There was mouse poop all over my dog's toys, in my closets, on my books, on my chairs, in my shoes and even on my clothes.
That night when there were so many mice, I came to the front concierge crying. I had to get a hotel for the night and told management I'm done. I'm moving out. It had been over a month and situation kept getting worse. Not only did management not reimburse me for my hotel, they said I could not get out of my lease. They treated me horribly. Did not say sorry I left crying and had to deal with this situation. The apartment was uninhabitable and they didn't care. I was probably eating off the counter after mice had been on there.
They only care about money and not about their tenants. The super and the front desk staff are wonderful, but not management.
And by the way, they found around 6 or 7 dead mice besides the 8 I saw running around.
Here are some pictures. I wish I could upload videos of the mice...
Read moreI have lived at one of the Stonehenge buildings for almost 3 years now and I love it. I have two rescue dogs and it's hard to find an apartment that will not only take one dog but two. Plus, they are such animal lovers that once a month they have yappy hours for the dogs to socialize as well as for the parents to socialize and learn with the lovely trainer they have attend. Plus, they have wine and cheese! On top of the yappy hours, at least once a month they have something for the residents... a festival social event that ranges from a happy hour, painting class, mixology class, holiday parties, fitness class, and the list goes on. They also have lotteries for the residents every month for Broadway tickets (I won a pair of third row seats for Hamilton! (very very very good seats)), dinners at new restaurants (I won a free dinner that was unlimited at a new jazz place (they treated us like royalty), and concerts. Also, during the holidays you can win gift cards for Whole Foods. Besides the extra perks, the staff are super nice and helpful, the apartments are gorgeous and I have yet to see a bug or mouse in my apartment, as well as the buildings themselves are stunning. I have six large closets (one of them a walk in) and a foyer! Stonehenge buildings are everywhere so no matter what location of NYC (and now LIC) you...
