Having been here over 10 times in the past year alone, I’d have to say this is one of the good dessert places in Manhattan, if you’re in the area. Every time I bring my friends here or introduce them to it, they always go back for more. There’s good reason for that too! Not only are the bombolones (Italian doughnuts) amazing, but there’s also seating on the 2nd floor to have a nice quiet chat. The staff here are also very friendly and will answer any questions you may have.
My personal favorites here are the pistachio and the chantilly bombolones(doughnuts that are light, not dense, with the perfect chew and bite). I get those every time I go here and then try some new ones as well because why not? Nutella is good but can get overly sweet with every bite. I’m not a fan of the strawberry one but my friends like it. (I have a personal bias against the fake and artificial strawberry flavoring in general). The mont blanc one was good but you need a good mix to avoid it being overly sweet since it’s basically half Nutella and half chantilly. The chantilly balances out the Nutella but sometimes the Nutella can still be overpowering even though the Chantilly has got a light whipped vanilla cream taste. I guess that might be a good thing if you’ve got a sweet tooth or just love Nutella!
In addition to the bombolones, I’ve also tried their wheel croissants. I do love that it’s something different from surrounding places and it stands out as one of their popular items. I’ve tried their Nutella, pistachio, and strawberries and cream wheel croissants. They use the same filling and frosting as the bombolones. So again, personal favorite is the pistachio one. I will say that sometimes though the wheel croissants can be a bit slightly burnt on the outside and you can definitely tell by the color and when you break into it, so hope for one that’s not as toasted if that’s your preference!
I’ve also had their matcha latte which was okay. Nothing too special there. I haven’t yet tried their actual croissants, their gelato, or their savory items yet but definitely will have to the next couple times I go back!
Also, if you pay cash, it’s slightly cheaper than paying with a card.
P.S. I’m lactose intolerant but I’d eat the pistachio bombolone, cream and all, any day. It’s...
Read moreThis right here is the perfect example of why I could never live in NYC. I’m just walking down the street, minding my business, trying to catch a bus, when I happen to glance into a window not even looking for anything in particular, just overwhelmed by the sheer amount of visual stimulation this city throws at you. And what do I see? These little, perfect-looking pastries sitting in the display, practically daring me to keep walking. Like escorts in the red-light district of Amsterdam. (For the record, I’ve never been to Amsterdam.) But I couldn’t resist. There was no way I was walking past that.
Everything looked good. Like, dangerously good. Then I walk in and there’s this kind Chilean girl working behind the counter, prepping pastries in real time with the kind of accent that makes you want to ask questions about everything on the menu. I gave it a shot in Spanish.. my Spanish isn’t perfect, but she was patient even though she was busy and, helpful, and smiled the whole time. Honestly, I would’ve bought anything she recommended just off her energy alone.
Now I’ll admit, I was a little thrown off when I saw the posted prices for cash and card, but then found out they weren’t accepting cash at all. Almost took a star off for that. Almost. But then the mango pie hit my tongue and instantly made me forget about it. That little pie was a masterpiece. Tart like key lime but richer, smoother, and somehow better. It danced across my taste buds and activated my saliva glands like a track dropping in a studio session. If I were the record producer whos on trial right now and tested his new artists to make da band, I wouldn’t have been sending them to Junior’s for cheesecake. I’d be sending them to Angelina’s for mango pie.
There were at least ten more pastries I wanted to try. Everything in that case looked handcrafted, cared for, and downright delicious. Angelina’s doesn’t just sell pastries.. They sell moments. Little edible pieces of joy.
Big shoutout to the Chilean girl behind the counter for the vibe and the patience.

Read moreI LOVED the food here. I went before seeing MJ the Musical down the street, ordered a couple slices of cheese pizza for myself, plus one of the big sugar glazed donuts, plus one of the big powdered sugar donuts, and a cappuccino from the kiosk outside (I was on VACATION don't you judge me), and was surprised to find that I loved each item I bought. From each bite of the pizza to each of the donuts, I thought the bread and dough of everything was absolutely delicious.
The cheese and crust of the pizza and the thickness of the donuts were just so perfect and satisfying, and the layering of sugar drizzled on top of them really satisfied the sweet tooth. I know I just spiked my insulin and blood sugar levels for the evening but, dang it, they were worth the momentary splurge.
The cappuccino, too, was delicious, though it was really the pizza and donuts I remember the most.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a table for myself on the upstairs level, despite the place being PACKED (Times Square, expect a lot of people), and was able to enjoy my "meal" and take these photos for you googs.
Ordering from the kiosk was easy, though if you're like me and need to see ALL THE OPTIONS, it can take a while. Be sure not to hold up any line, if there is one, though are multiple kiosks outside. You can pay with your card right there and then go inside and just wait for your order to be called.
There were SO MANY choices to pick from, from hot meals like the pizza or sandwiches, to pastries like danishes and donuts and croissants. I wanted them all, no doubt, but alas, I'm only human. I will definitely be making time for this place again in a future expedition to the jungles of New York City and Times Square.
Angelina gets the best 5/5 stars from me 🤤🍩🍕☕️
