I placed an order for window treatments (custom cut blinds) and installation. I paid nearly $1600 for this. After 3+ weeks and no response to emails about the order status, the blinds were delivered without notification and left unsecured outside my apartment building - already sloppy. But now, I can't even get a response from the store to schedule the installation! I've called the store, the national line, etc about 10 different times. The online sales people are very friendly and responsive but because this is an in-store order, they can't really do anything. All the numbers for the store are either giving a recorded message that it's closed or just ringing indefinitely. I'm absolutely livid! This is incredibly unprofessional and just plain incompetent behavior. Even the staff in-store may be friendly when trying to make the sale, but otherwise unfriendly and even quite rude at times. I believe the location has had some kind of incident - a partial parking garage collapse (oh the irony...) so no one is answering the phone and most likely I couldn't even go onsite if I was even willing to trek there. I would be understanding if Home Depot even attempted to communicate ANYTHING to me, but at this point I can only strongly recommend to STAY AWAY from this location and perhaps Home Depot in general if there's no way to get any sort of assistance or even information in a situation like this.

At this point, I have no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company which is slap in the face. Avoid this incompetence and go with a local installer or handyman instead of Home Depot

UPDATE 2024-04-09:

I finally got through to customer service - at the Cropsey store where the Hamilton Ave employees have been "working" the whole time. Again, a bit of an attitude when I voiced my frustrations with the woman cutting me off and blaming everything on the collapsed roof (as if that prevents them from emailing or calling waiting customers who have already PAID IN FULL) - and also their phone just kept cutting off in the middle so it took maybe 4 calls to get through. I wanted to cancel everything but I would need to pay a 15% restocking fee on the blinds. And if I canceled their installer and got my own, they wouldn't accommodate replacements of any mistakes on the blinds! Home Depot has you over a barrel in this case, so I had to go with their installer who was thankfully independent of the store and was actually great and the Bali blinds themselves are quite nice. But alas, of course one the most important and expensive blinds was both measured wrong AND entered by the sales rep wrong! Pathetic! To make matters worse, it took 4 attempts to get through before I finally got them to confirm an "expedited replacement" - so at least another 2 weeks wasted on incompetence. Imagine 8 weeks to get 13 sets of blinds cut and installed when China can build two high rise buildings in this same time. And that's assuming they don't screw it up which is a pretty weak assumption at this point. Needless to say, last time I ever use Home Depot...Will be going local next...

DO NOT ORDER COUNTERTOPS ONLINE Please read full review. Just know there could be thousands of $$$$ of additional fees.

I did not make my purchase online, but have learned that online orders are processed and cut right away. So you CAN NOT GET A REFUND for ONLINE ORDERS. Or at least that is very very unlikely.

What I've learned from this experience is Homedepot uses 3rd party contractors to remove and then install countertops, backsplashes and possibly cabinets (didn't do cabinets). These contractors decide a lot of the fees. homedepot quotes low and contractors come in a quote/charge more later.

I went to the store and made a purchase for countertop which is actually just an estimate. Contractor wanted me to do demo before giving an estimate and even doing measurements. I didn't feel comfortable with that so I requested a refund. Luckily no products or services were received. Contacted Homedepot for a refund. Rep said a request for reimbursement was sent. When no reimbursement came I had to request it a second time. This was 2 days later. I made this purchase w a credit card so I could always dispute the charge if I had too. My purchase was also very small. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm hoping to receive a refund in the next few days. As a note if you decide to make a large purchase like this make sure to get a refund or dispute the charge before the billing cycle on your card closes. You could end up paying hundreds (easily thousands for a bigger kitchen). My card company is known for reimbursing large purchases in the thousands. Just something to keep in mind.

I WILL BE UPDATING OR REPOSTING THIS REVIEW. Waiting to see what happens.

I just want to note the salespeople and staff at Homedepot both in the store and online have been very professional. Sadly this purchase just didn't work out. Luckily they are a big company so I may get my money back. I'll keep you posted. Kitchen update was going to be substantially more than what home...

I am a member of Home Depot Pro Xtra. Today is the worst day. Today is the start of my interior design project.

A few days ago (Wednesday, May 17) I ordered interior project materials from Home Depot of 230 Nostrand Ave. (I order more than $6000...) I asked how long the delivery would be. Thestaff (230 Nostrand Home Depot) said they would deliver it by Monday, May 22nd.

I asked the that staff to make the delivery according to the delivery schedule. And today (Monday, May 22) is the day to start the interior work. I arrived at the store with 4 carpenters, and a message came from Home Depot that they would deliver it today. I waited from 8 to 11 in the morning. However, a message came from Home Depot that they would not be able to deliver due to a system problem. So I went directly to the 230 Nostrand Home Depot. I ordered. And when I told the PRO DESK staff, they told me to go to the Customer Service Center in the store. After I went there and explained the whole situation, there was nothing I could do, so I went to 550 Hamilton Home Depot, the delivery home depot, and told the manager. So, on my way to the Home Depot, I got a call from the Customer Service Center and told me to reschedule the delivery again. So when I asked when the delivery would be, the employee said that it would be delivered tomorrow (Tuesday, May 23) from 10AM to 2PM. I thanked the manager, but since I was on my way to 550 Hamilton Home Depot, I had to meet with the manager there to double check. When I met the manager and informed him of the rescheduling, the manager said that there would be no delivery tomorrow and that it would be Wednesday, May 24th. I screamed OMG! I said OK and on the way home, I called again from the Customer Service Center and said that it would be delivered on Thursday, May 25th. I am so very angry. So today has become the worst day of my life. Also, Four of my employees didn't work today, but I had to pay...

Today the man in the appliance section loudly yelled at me as I was getting a microwave off the shelf. He asked if I needed help, I said I did and yet he did not approach to assist. He continued to converse with another customer and condescendingly asked why I wanted the microwave box from the back (it was the only undamaged one). Some gabbing was done within earshot that made me feel silly. I left the section and sought assistance from another associate Ron and he was surprised that there was no one in the appliance section who had provided any service. He proceeded to get me a ladder and get me what I wanted. Just goes to show some people shouldn’t be in customer service. Ron was great because I was going to abandon my cart and leave with nothing after receiving no service from the short, rude associate in the appliance section. Perhaps this individual needs to be retrained.

Why? Why is the vertical panel saw ALWAYS out of order? I have been coming to this Home Depot for 10 years to buy plywood, 80% of the time the saw is “Out Of Order”. Why Home Depot? And the very nice staff says, maybe someone will come this week to fix it… Maybe? Maybe Home Depot, you should consider having someone on your own staff who can fix your saw? How about that? Do you have any idea how much money you lose every time someone comes in to buy wood & have it cut but leaves because your saw is Out Of Order??? I would have spent hundreds of dollars today. But no, your saw was out of order, again, so I didn’t. In fact there was a guy in your parking lot, cutting plywood sheets with his own circular saw on some shopping carts in order to get what he needed into his car. What does that tell you? It tells you that you have a problem.

I just spent 20 minutes in this hellish store and am now on the verge of a breakdown. I felt as if I was in a bad dream. My boyfriend and I were attempting to purchase a cordless drill. I approached an employee who was stocking a shelf to ask for help and was flat-out ignored. We approached a second employee who said they would send someone to help us; no one came after 10 minutes of waiting. Meanwhile there was a loud, incessant beeping in the drill aisle that made it impossible to talk or to think. We ended up just grabbing a tool and hoping it was the right one for us since we got no employee help, and then getting out of there ASAP. I have a headache now. The one saving grace was an adorable cat (pictured) inexplicably sleeping on top of the toilet paper.
