This hotel has a homeless shelter on the first few floors of the hotel. Since they’ve been here, there have been many burglaries and home invasions. This has made all of us living in the area afraid for our lives. Just last week someone tried knocking the front door down of one of our neighbors. My neighbor had to hold the door with his back while calling the police. The police have not followed through and have made no effort to find this man. So don’t expect any help from the police who are only three blocks away. This precinct is useless. You’ll probably find the officers leaving the strip club on 39th Street and 2nd Ave. This neighborhood is not the place you want to stay thanks to Mayor DeBlasio. If he thought it was a good idea to put homeless among families he should have put one on 11th Street where his home is located. In fact, there was this huge armory which could have housed all the homeless in the city a few blocks away from his home, but they built a YMCA. Imagine that. Nothing but the best for white folks! Instead, he thought it would be best to integrate the homeless with a neighborhood that is predominantly Hispanic and Arab. And the councilman Menchaca is his little brown nosed pet who allowed these shelters to come to fruition without advising the neighbors. Apparently Menchaca like DeBlasio doesn’t think his constituents deserve better because of the color of their skin. They are equally responsible for turning this once good family oriented neighborhood...
Read moreI stayed at Brooklyn Way for the first time Aug 2018 along with my brother who had 2 rooms when we were having the funeral for our Dad. I'll definitely stay here again in the future. The staff was professional and accommodating and the Manager Shack went out of his way to be helpful. The hotel is nice, the rooms are clean and modern, the warm breakfast hit the spot (even for my athletic nephews), the location is convenient with the train and stores nearby. The only problem I had was extending my stay. The hotel was booked up!! Read moreJuly 2014 If you expect to to be greeted by a door man and spend all day in a room of luxury. This is not for you. Yes, the lobby is small, but who plans to spend much time there. They even upgraded my room to a King size bed at no additional cost. The room is small but clean and comfortable. My room had a refrigerator , but no lock box. PROS: Price was great. Free wifi.Free breakfast (I ate waffles everyday so I can't comment on the other food options.(sausage,bacon,bagels,eggs,fruit,yogurt,muffins).The microwave is available 24/7. The R train is located right at the corner (you can take it to atlantic ave and transfer to B,D,N,Q,2,3,4,5 trains if need be)There was a KFC a couple blocks away. C-Town supermarket on the corner. Dunkin Donuts and SUBWAYS across the street. Parking available.Outside and underground ( $22 daily-cheaper than all other options). CONS:Breakfast area is very small. The door to get in from the underground parking should have a light or a lighted key card entry ( On a dark rainy night I sure couldn't see it).
Overall, It was a descent place to stay. It met my needs. I would definately...
