The Natural Ruby Company, and Lauren in particular, were most helpful and patient in helping us create the perfect 40th anniversary ruby ring. I think we were able to explore and learn a lot more through the online shopping experience than we would have had we shopped at brick and mortar stores. I think we looked at over 200 rubies, compared color, carats, clarity and cut, winnowed the set of interest down to a little over 50, and then things got interesting. We found in our research a better sense of what to look for in assessing color (hue, saturation, and tone) and clarity (Eye Clean, Very Slight Inclusions, Slight Inclusions, etc.). We learned about the role of different heating treatments to improve color (H for Heat Only, H(a) for insignificant residues remaining from application of heat with chemicals, H(b) for minor residues largely unaffecting appearance left from the treatment, etc.. Your interactive display of each particular stone’s cut showing the dimensions and facets as you rotate the stone up, down and around was very helpful, particularly in the final stages of our evaluation. Your specification sheet reporting several key measurements was also most helpful. The renderings you provided allowed us to clearly establish a preference for a geometry of the cut. After hours of looking at each stone and getting all the details down on a big spreadsheet so we could compare both the specs and our feelings, we managed to get the set down from 50 to 8. We displayed your product page for each of the 8 side by side on our computer screen so we could compare each stone for appearance and feelings through all the different views your product pages offer. We occasionally swapped out one of the eight, but then usually remembered why it had been favored before, and swapped it back in. From there the results of your reporting on the relative fluorescence of the stones reduced the set down to 4. In the end, it was a basic discovery using the interactive display of the cuts plus a big satisfaction that, with all other factors considered, she still liked the stone she first thought looked the best, particularly in its color.

We had spent weeks looking in shops and online for a ruby ring for a 40th wedding anniversary and settled on the Natural Ruby Company because it had a vast range of settings to choose from and (uniquely) it allowed us to see in-detail the actual ruby we were buying, in photos, videos and technical reports. Further, the ability to obtain a set of rendered images of the ruby in several settings enabled use to make a final choice of setting while giving us confidence that the finished product would be what we wanted. I'm not aware of any other company that provides this service and when the ring arrived it was exactly as expected.
