A couple of weeks ago after another disappointing visit to Sephora in search of a cleanser and serum suitable for my combination skin that would lessen the appearance of some minor hyperpigmentation I walked by the Deciem store and figured I'd check it out and I had the most incredible experience. As soon as I walked in, one of the employees, Deirdre greeted me and welcomed me to the store and asked how she could help, she was down to earth and attentive as I went through my whole spiel about my current skincare regime and what I want to target. Doing so is part of her job description, but she went above and beyond. When recommending products, she not only indicated which of my concerns they would target but also detailed the scientific process behind how and why they work, and this won me over. Since my visit, I overhauled my routine and am using Deciem's the ordinary vitamin C suspension and alpha arbutin serums every day as well as their AHA peel and lactic acid solution biweekly, and my skin hasn't looked this good in years. I've been raving about this store to everyone, I never write reviews, but I felt like I had to, to say thanks to Deirdre for all her help and let anyone who's interested know their products are...

This is, in my opinion, the best DECIEM store I have visited. The staff are friendly and remarkably helpful. I am new to their products and heard about them through a friend.

When I visited one of their other stores in San Francisco, the staff were not as patient as the ones here who made me feel like they genuinely wanted to help me out. I would like to especially highlight a member of their staff- Mr Bryan (or Brian) who greeted me with a wide smile and was incredibly helpful with going through the products with me although I bought them from another DECIEM store. I ended up purchasing only one product but Bryan was delighted to serve me and even told me “any purchase at all is good!”

The store itself was nicely presented, I was able to find what I needed quickly. However I felt that the associates in charge of the counter that day were rude. Talking with their coworkers is fine but not until they ignore their customers. I was ready to checkout and there were no other customers in line and the store was not crowded but the sales associate in the counter did not bother to serve me even when I initiated a simple hello. I am asian myself and am not trying to be racist in any way but I feel that the female asian associate in the counter did not want to serve me even if she saw me ready to checkout because she happily served a caucasian customer after me. Luckily the asian male associate who was talking to that same female staff finally decided to help me checkout that also with no apology or a comment...
