Did you know you don’t have to go far into the Central Park to find the best spots? In fact the most iconic ones are right north of 59th street. So if you are first time in New York City’s most famous park here is a short list of places where you should start: 🌳 59th St & 5th Ave - here is the most popular east side entrance that will lead you to The Pond, Gapstow Bridge, Wollman Rink and a couple of hills with incredible view of NYC skyline. Also, you can find here the famous Central Park ZOO 🌳 59th st & 6th Ave - enter the park here so you can walk by horse carriages and end up on a couple of hills close to the NYC skyscrapers 🌳 59th st & Columbus Circle - it will lead you to West Dr where you can bike around the park, a few softball fields and Sheep Meadow where you can sit and relax Don’t forget to take your backpack filled with bottles of water and other necessities that are helpful during long walks. My backpack is from the newest collection @LeSportsac and it’s super spacious and practical while still very fashionable. I love the fact that is has lots of bigger and smaller pockets. Also, it’s an awesome backpack for upcoming fall hikes and winter activities! Check their website for different styles and colors 😍 📌 Save and Share this post with with your friends ✨Follow @glamofnyc for more New York City tips.✨ … #NewNavigators #travelpack #travelkit #traveladdict #travelbloggers #travelreel #travelreelsoninstagram #creativephotography #newyork_instagram #newyorkarea #instanyc #nycbloggers #summerreflection #prettycitynewyork #lovenyc #iammissadventure #viralreels #femmetravel newyork centralpark

As originally laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the Pond was considerably larger. A large piece of its upper reaches, which once spanned a narrow neck of water, was paved over to form Wollman Rink, which opened in 1950. The Central Park Conservancy started a reconstruction of the Pond in 2000, and completed it the next year. The reconstruction included new shoreline and perimeter plantings, an island habitat for birds and turtles, and beyond Gapstow Bridge, a series of small pools and cascades.[citation needed] A male mandarin duck resident of the Pond, nicknamed Mandarin Patinkin, received international media attention in late 2018 and early 2019; the duck's colorful appearance and the species' appearance outside its native range in East Asia contributed to...

Tucked near the 59th Street East Side entrance, The Pond is a dreamy little hideaway in the middle of Manhattan madness. It’s super scenic with lots of benches, big rocks to perch on, and even grassy spots perfect for laying out a picnic blanket. You'll spot ducks, geese, turtles, and other little critters doing their thing. It’s like a mini wildlife show right in the city. (Super close to Central Park Zoo- even more wildlife) Whether you’re here to relax, journal, or just breathe, this spot delivers all the peace with a side of...
