Found this doctor on Google trusting the high Google reviews, was I disappointed at the end of it all. I came in for Botox (Xeomin) and right about a week into the product setting in, I began to notice how every time I would yawn or sneeze lines between my eyebrows in a shape of a Tudor roof with a horizontal line across my nose bridge beneath it would form. It’s never been my experience with Botox in the past. I was very concerned. So, I came in for a follow up two weeks later and Dr Kang injected more product in the area of concern which in another week created heaviness between my eyebrows and, as a result, dropped my eyelids, especially the left one to the point I was able to feel the fold as I would blink my eye. Frustrated about the whole experience, I came in for a third time two weeks after the touch up. Dr Kang did not seem pleased to see me yet again - as if I had nothing else to do but to come in the middle of a work day to fix his job that should have been done right in the first place!!! He began to tell me how Botox is in fact a toxin and one should not be putting too much of it in their body as it is toxic. Mind you - he was the Dr who in the first appointment convinced me that I needed Botox for my jaw to prevent grinding (although I did tell him I wore a night guard at night ), which I did end up purchasing for NO reason. He even upsold me on an oxygen facial session. He then continued to give me a lesson in anatomy to explain where he did the injections and how he did everything right (again, Dr - I do not care! I know the job is done poorly because I feel and I see the slight changes that are not the ones I looked nor paid for). He then spoke about my eyelid that it looked ok as he could tell since he does eyelid surgery all day (well, Dr perhaps this is all you should stick to). He did not address any of the concerns the third time I came in, I listen to his unnecessary lecture while feeling super uncomfortable and unwelcome all along. Sadly, it felt like his professional ego got in the way of truly hearing and addressing the client’s concerns. I ended up going to a nurse the other day and was explained where Dr Kang messed up. I am now to wait for another 10weeks for the product to dissolve to go and get it done all over again. I ended up getting a refund for the oxygen facial, which took like two weeks to finally process. No way I would let anyone touch me there again. In a nutshell, Dr Kang is charming and charismatic - which are great qualities for a salesman. When it comes to Botox - he isnot qualified based on my experience. I learned my lesson to go to an RN...
Read moreThe result of my double eyelid surgery is so natural that even my mom didn’t notice it!
I had my double eyelid surgery using the partial incision method in August with Dr. Kang, and I’ve been so happy with the results! Growing up, I’ve always had some sort of double eyelid, but the shape was inconsistent and changed daily. I relied on tape to maintain the crease throughout the day, but after using it for about 10 years, I decided it was finally time to get the surgery.
Although I knew the procedure costs way less in Asia, I chose to have it done in the US because I value the transparency here, and I wanted a doctor I could easily reach out to for post-surgery follow-ups.
During my search, I consulted with two doctors. The first was a celebrity surgeon who recommended the suture method. However, he casually warned me that the suture line might break in a few years, requiring another procedure to fix it. I wanted a more permanent solution, which led me to Dr. Kang. He recommended the partial incision method—a less invasive option than full incision but more durable than the suture method. I knew Dr. Kang was the one the minute he recommended this method. Also, later it turned out that his pricing was more reasonable than the quote I received from the other doctor.
My case wasn’t too complicated since my main goal was to recreate the crease I had been maintaining with tape. From the first consultation, I felt that Dr. Kang completely understood my goals. He demonstrated a deep understanding of the nuances of my facial features, often pointing out details I hadn’t even noticed about myself.
The surgery itself went smoothly, and my downtime was about one week. Amazingly, I think my eyes started looking very natural just one day after the stitches were removed. I had to hide the fact that I got the surgery from my family because they’re very against plastic surgery, but the result is so natural that even my mom hasn’t noticed to this day! Maybe she still thinks that I have my tape on all day long haha. I also recovered quickly and was able to travel internationally just three weeks after the procedure.
I really appreciate Dr. Kang and his entire team. The nurses were so sweet, attentive, and supportive throughout the process. If you’re looking for a doctor well-versed in Asian aesthetics, I highly, highly...

Dr Kang's Manhattan office just got new machines for laser treatment! I was lucky to be the first patient to try the PDL 585 today to treat my redness and rosacea. In contrast to IPL which can be quite painful, I didn't feel any pain with the PDL 585 treatment. Based on my research, PDL 585 is more effective in treating rosacea than IPL so I would highly recommend it to anyone who has similar concerns. There is also PicoSure in the manhattans office and I can't wait to try it next time.
My prior experiences:
Facelift - Perfect aesthetic taste and amazing technique (October 2023)
I was so impressed about the result of Dr. Kang’s PDO thread procedure that I brought my husband to Dr. Kang for a facelift. As a public figure, my husband initially had hesitation about facelift which could look unnatural if overdone. But Dr Kang is such a skilled surgeon with perfect aesthetic taste and the result was beyond my expectations. Now it’s been more a month after the surgery and the swelling disappeared entirely. I feel my husband’s face now looks ten years younger. Dr. Kang restored my husband’s face to his more youthful and vibrant self yet it looks so natural. The incisions are all inconspicuously hidden into his hairline and no one would ever tell he’s done any surgical work on his face. We visited some relatives whom we haven’t seen in years over Thanksgiving and they said to my husband “you haven’t changed a bit”!
PDO procedure and fat transfer (July 2023)
Dr. Kang not only possesses amazing knowledge, experience and techniques but also is extremely dedicated and detail-oriented. The results of my PDO thread lift and fat transfer were fantastic. My face looks more youth with very limited discomfort and very little bruising after the procedure. In addition, he has a wonderful team of staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits at his Manhattan and Bayside offices. I feel they genuinely cared and I appreciate all the follow-up visits and consultations. I would recommend Dr. Kang to all my friends who need cosmetic advice and treatment, especially if you enjoy having great conversations and listening to uplifting 80's soundtracks (which can naturally be switched based on your personal preference) during...
