The Pool — Local services in New York

The Pool is spectacular. From the moment you walk into the door, upstairs through the Grill, past the luxurious plant display, and into the massive open dining room and gaze upon the eponymous pool with a moving mobile above --- The Pool never fails to impress.

Service was impeccable and attentive. Everytime we returned to our seats, the chairs were pulled out for us. Angel, our server, was knowledgeable and on point with recommendations. I remembered him from Torrisi way back in 2011 which speaks to the loyalty and professionalism of Major Food Group.

The food was simply off the hook. The bread with salmon butter was smooth and heavenly. Oysters bursting with freshness from the ocean. Octopus was perfectly cooked and a hearty portion. Tuna toast was delicious with a generous and sleek helping on tuna on each piece of bread. Beet Mille Feuille was a masterpiece to look at and extremely flavorful in a way you wouldn't expect. Gazpacho salad was intricate with good balance of acidity.

My main course was the Portuguese turbot which I thoroughly enjoyed and was perfectly cooked. We tried a bunch of the desserts and Frozen Yogurt with various toppings was heavenly.

Such an amazing dining experience. The service was so incredible Chris and his management took such good care ya. Everyone was so pleasant and attentive not once did they try to rush us like almost every other place in NYC and the atmosphere was stunning. I really appreciated all the attention to detail that was given to the interior as well as what was on the plate. The food was delicious, not one dish was over seasoned or under whealming. Charred octopus was way better than any I have had, foie gras had a hint of cherry and pistachio which was perfectly done. Even the simplest foods like beets they made into a delectable appetizer. The yellowfin tuna toast with harissa and olive was another favorite and the sea urchin toast was great if you can handle the strong flavor. Somehow eluded by the infamous Michelin star, THE POOL exhibits ultra-fine dining in NYC. The menu is very much aqua-themed in that there are only 2 non-seafood options (which I presume are equally as amazing as the seafood options). We were greeted by front desk staff downstairs in the entrance-way and were immediately whisked to our tables in some elegant coordinated fashion. Once seated, the impeccable service begins and you are not once forgotten. The journey through the hours-long meal is filled with a culinary allure starting with the tartare butter for the bread and finishing with the perfect pairing of wine and dessert.
