I had a total of three bunion surgeries performed by Dr. Shapiro at Manhattan Podiatry—two inner bunion surgeries and one Tailor’s bunion surgery—and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I traveled internationally from Canada to have my procedures done because I wanted the best and top-rated surgeon in the world, which is only available in Manhattan. Dr. Shapiro’s reputation for excellence is well deserved, and I’m so glad I made the trip.
From the very first consultation, Dr. Shapiro was incredibly thorough, patient, and reassuring. He took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure I fully understood the procedures and recovery process. His surgical expertise is truly unmatched, and all three surgeries went smoothly. Thanks to him, my recovery has been excellent, and I’m now walking pain-free.
Beyond Dr. Shapiro’s exceptional skill, his staff is equally outstanding—professional, friendly, and extremely well-organized. Scheduling appointments from abroad was seamless, wait times were minimal, and they were always available to answer my questions, making the entire experience stress-free.
If you’re looking for the absolute best podiatric care, I highly recommend Dr. Shapiro and his team at Manhattan Podiatry. Traveling internationally was more than worth it for this level of...
Read moreUpdate: The office manager contacted me and apologized for the customer service experience I had.
They obviously take the review process seriously and took steps to rectify the situation. (I've upped the star rating accordingly).
The visit was fine. Dr. Shapiro was personable and informative. However, this was supposed to be followed up with an MRI scan. When I telephoned to check on the MRI two weeks later, the office had no record of this. The office then phoned me around 8 o'clock this morning wanting my e-mail address to set up the MRI. I was sure I'd filled this out, along with the mountain of other paperwork they make you complete on your first visit. I mentioned this and then enjoyed listening to the young staff member tell me I was wrong and never provided this. I have a feeling you guys do have my e-mail (I am, after all, responding to your e-mailed request for feedback). But, you know what? Even if you didn't have it, maybe train your staff not to argue with their customers before they've even woken up properly. How appropriate for a Podiatrist: I now get to vote...
Read moreI do not recommend this practice. Dr. Landsman is nice but the front desk staff (Bri) and their billing person (Jeffrey) are rude and bad at patient communications. From my experience this office is also operating under borderline fraudulent protocols. Their website advertises that they accept many insurances and their staff accepted my insurance card upon arrival of my consultation and charged me for my office visit copay (normal). Then thing started getting weird when they made be pay 2 separate deposits fully out of pocket for my orthotic, stating that they would bill to my insurance after and reimburse me. Well, turns out the doctor they sent me to is not in-network with my insurance and they submitted the claim as out-of-network so I never got all my money back (only a fraction of what I paid after I had to get my insurance broker involved). I also waited 20-30 mins to be seen despite arriving on time for my appts. The way this office operates is absolutely...
