I was referred to Dr. Claire Chang by NurseGigi because Dr. Chang specializes in skin of color and Asian beauty trends. I came to Dr. Chang with concerns for my sun spots and skin tags and wanted them removed. She used a combination of electrocautery, the Alex Trivantage laser and the Clear & Brilliant laser on my face and neck.
Unfortunately, I had an unexpected reaction to the treatment on my neck, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), that only happens in a very small percentage of people and I was very very unhappy with the results. I hesitated but returned to Dr. Chang's office concerned over the reaction to my neck worried that it was permanent. Dr. Chang explained the reaction and she and her staff assured me that it was not permanent and that they would do whatever it took to achieve results that I was happy with it. Dr. Chang came up with a treatment plan, completely free of charge.
I have been working in healthcare doing direct patient care and I would highly recommend Dr. Chang and her team to others even though I initially had a result that I was unhappy with. Dr. Chang could have easily told me that there is a risk for everyone in developing PIH and that I was part of that small percentage and could have said "too bad, so sad" and charged me to have it treated. It is a sign of an exceptional practitioner to take responsibility for what happened even if it is out of her control. Fast forward to a few months later and the PIH is barely noticeable. I am very happy with the results!
Luckily my face did not have PIH. After a few treatments my sun spots have faded drastically, I look younger, my skin has less redness and I feel BEAUTIFUL without foundation!
Having worked in healthcare for over a decade, I tend to scrutinize healthcare providers rather harshly. On top of working with me to get the results I wanted, I love Dr. Chang's bedside manner. She is sweet, knowledgable and not intimidating so you can ask whatever you want without fear or judgement. Her nurse Jessica goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and like the most important patient in the world! Do not downplay the nurse in the room during these procedures because in all honesty, most of the procedures are accompanied by some form of pain even if you are given some topical numbing cream. Also, allowing the numbing cream to sit and take effect is VERY IMPORTANT, you do not want to rush it (I give anesthesia for a living)! Your nurse will make all the difference in distracting you and helping you get through the procedure, Jessica was fantastic! Dr. Chang and Jessica try their best to make an uncomfortable situation as pleasant as can be. Remember, no pain, no gain! The results...

Iāve struggled with dull, textured skin, and rosacea for most of my life. As a South Asian woman, I always felt there were very few derms who truly understood how to treat my skin safelyš Iāve traveled to see all the āglobal expertsā but NONE of them compared to Dr. Chopra.
From the beginning, he took the time to understand not only my skin, but also the history and emotional weight of carrying years of failed treatmentsš
He then built a treatment plan that was innovative, personalized, and ACTUALLY felt designed just for me!!
His approach combined all these advanced modalities (half of which most derms donāt even offer) that targeted every single one of my concernsšš¼ Seriously.. heās next level detailed.
Every step of the way, he checked in, explained what he was doing, and made me feel like a partner in the process rather than just another patientšš½ That alone is enough to make me go back, BUT letās talk resultsā¦
LIFE. CHANGING. In just 6 months, we were able to undo nearly two decades of scarring, redness, and texture issues.. I could cryš„²š„² My skin is finally clear, smooth, and healthy in a way I never thought possible!!
Dr. Chopra gave me back my confidence and I am soo so gratefulš„¹ He is a trailblazer, a healer, and a doctor who truly cares.. for real, I cannot recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been here a few times and I had enjoyed it until today.
I was scheduled for a VI peel today at 9:45 AM with Dr. Ugonabo. I arrived at 9:30 AM and was informed that I had been scheduled for the following week instead. After recognizing the error, the receptionist reached out to the doctor and scheduled me for a 10:45 AM appointment. It was an hour delay but I felt it was worth the wait but unfortunately I was wrong.
I came back at 10:40 but despite the hourlong wait, I was not seen until 11:30. No one should have to wait two hours to begin a scheduled appointment :/ .
While the doctor apologized, it sounded half-hearted and I donāt think anyone in the organization appropriately owned up to the mistake and did anything to make it right especially since I waited another 45 mins to be seen.
Mistakes happen to everyone but itās important to resolve them.
After an initial hourlong delay I had to wait an additional 45 minutes before I could see the doctor.
If you couldnāt honor your commitment then why not communicate as soon as possible. Important things in my day should not be dismissed because of a mismanaged schedule.
As a business, you hold your patients accountable for lateness and no shows by charging fees. How do you hold yourself accountable for missed appointments and...
