I was quite amused by an obvious change in staff's attitude towards me when I went in there to send my package. Her name is Ms. Yang or Ying. She was flirting with a white guy in a suit in their 30s who was before me, (it was embarrassing to watch), and when it was my turn (female in 20s) her attitude changed completely. No greetings or anything. She was even on a power trip and almost made me unpack my package because I had packed an iPhone with a battery inside. According to her, the battery has to be removed but usps website says otherwise. When I explained that, she was adamant that that info was wrong, so I said I recently sent an iPhone and didn't have any trouble. To which she said reluctantly "you were lucky. But don't do it again." Lol Very pathetic that someone in her 50s couldn't even admit her mistake. And then she also told me that documents need to be packed separately. I was sending it via priority international mail. I called usps to confirm that putting documents together with other goods in a package was fine. She said, "if you sent documents with other items before, you're probably blacklisted by customs." Yeah, right. Her lame attempt to make my life difficult further continued and this time she told me to remove the tapes and use the USPS plastic tape because the tapes I used would block x-rays. I've used that tape in the past for international packages and was never ever told this before. At this point I deemed it wise to just do what she said and retaped my package. My package arrived safely but alas, these people who are on a power trip are the reason why I hate post office. I don't know how unhappy they are with their poor lives but taking it out on customers is just pathetic. I also had difficulty understanding her heavy Chinese accent and had to ask her to repeat herself, so she was clearly miffed. When the guy in a suit approached her again, she was all friendly and making a small talk, and when the next customer (black man in 30s) went up to her,...
Read moreStaff is extremely slow, even in retrieving packages where all information is provided via redelivery slips. Good luck if you have a somewhat complicated ask. My carrier refused to leave packages at my apartment due to an insecure area (there are two locked doors before anyone can enter, and I the mail carrier sees packages left by UPS and FedEx in the same location every day), so I had to go in and request that the carrier leave parcels. It took well over an hour. I was directed to another counter where no professionals were available, and after 20 minutes another worker informed me I was sent to the wrong line and that I'd need a manager to help. They directed me to yet another line, where I waited 25 more minutes, only to be told that managers were upstairs and were busy and that I'd need to "Hope that one comes downstairs soon." Rather than call a manager to resolve my issue, I had to sit and wait on the off chance someone with any power came downstairs so that I could get my mail delivered properly. After getting a manager, the conversation ended with the employee telling me I could have just written a note stating my willingness to assume responsibility for packages left in the hallway, and that everyone at the office should have been able to impart this information upon me. Fast forward 3 months; not only do I still get about 50% of the packages scheduled for delivery by USPS, but the carrier does not leave slips for redelivery or attempted delivery. I have no way to track or schedule redelivery of packages without these slips. This location and its employees are, unfortunately, a thorn in the side of anyone hoping to get standard...
Read moreSeriously the worst experience. This post office basically lost my package which had my PASSPORT in it, and my family and I ended up waiting around in our hotel lobby for this package (we checked out that morning). They kept telling me my hotel already picked up mail (the post office did NOT give them my package), so it was in their hands. My hotel informed me they are given the mail and they never received my package. Well the post office finally figured out they had my package and the concierge at the hotel told me to RUN to get it as the post office was closing in less than 15 minutes. I ran and made it in time. My sister sent me a text message (her number was listed on the receipt) saying I needed to call the post office (she was in California, I was in NY) because someone named Camelle (Spelling?) sent a courier to my hotel with my package. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?! I called Camelle and she had the NERVE to raise her voice at me stating I never told her I was going to the post office to pick up my package. LIES. I was standing right there when the concierge was speaking to their office saying he was sending me over to pick it up. Then I called the NY post office today, 9/10, and I asked if I could make a complaint to the woman (Loretta) on the phone. She told me no, that I would have to submit it in writing. LIES LIES LIES! I spoke with my local post office in California and she said that's not true, that you can make a complaint to ANY post office regarding customer service. WORST Post Office...
