If I could give zero stars I would... I do not live in NY but during my holiday trip I had to deliver 10 packages and went to four post offices... Out of all of them Gracie was the worst... As soon as I arrived I was excited to see there was only two people in line... But to my disbelief it took me about an hour to mail my package and that was with 5 people working the registers ...the first window I went to was with an extremely rude and dismissive man... As soon as I got up to the window I said "hello" and nothing... so then he started talking (staring right at me) and I said "excuse me" but he wasn't even talking to me... He was looking at me but talking to another employee... Then he said "what do you want" after I told him he just told me "go somewhere else I'm not mailing that for you" (mind you it was a large envelope that I have mailed as a package in every other post office in NY including Orlando and Kentucky for regular shipping about $2.95 without any problem or confrontation) So I got back in line and waited 15 more minutes to get helped by a more competent employee I thought... Wrong again after waiting I walked up to a lady and as soon as I got to the window I said "can I speak to a supervisor I want to form a complaint" she just looked at me with a blank stare and said that the lady behind her was... I started to tell her how rude the first employee was and the "supervisor" completely dissmised my complaint... obviously she didn't care and said so "what do you want" I said "mail this large envolpe as a package" ... Then she said "no we can't" I said "how come yesterday in Chelsea I could and in Orlando and every other post office".... She said "why don't you go there then" and walked away ...mind you the SUPERVISOR... So I was baffled by what was going on and finally said "so there is no way to mail this large envolope" thinking they would have told me other options instead of just saying "no we cant" and the cashier finally said "you can send it certified, go fill out the form and come back" ... Wow that was difficult... After getting out of line again filling out the certified slip and having to get in line again waiting another 20 minutes it was finally done... I paid twice of what I normally would and it was like asking a huge favor... All I have to say is if all of these people cannot do their jobs properly and treat their customers with a little respect they should definitely review their lives and not work at the post office... Every single employee there including the manager where rude, unprofessional and dismissive to their customers... I highy recommend to anyone to avoid at all costs going to...
Read moreThis was absolutely horrible experience today. This review is specifically for the African American gentleman with the glasses at the passport station. After patiently waiting with my girlfriend with ALL of her correct ,valid and accurate documents presented We asked for a passport application. Rudely he asked what type of ID did she have Instead of handing over the application. She complied giving him the identification (NYS DMV issued ID CARD learners permit) and He then looks at it and says this was not valid (doesnt expire till 2021) Luckily she had a regular issued NYS ID card which was also valid... We also presented a social security card & birth certificate in excellent condition. Still he was not satisfied giving us a hard time looking for a reason to deny us service. Prior to our arrival we had also made copies of everything in black-and-white and in color. Rudely he tells us The documents She had was not enough And we need it to make 4 copies of each document Which is completely false absurd and insane. (the requirements are clearly stated on the passport website) shes beyond qualified with the documents she presented. He told her he must get a school ID card, bring an insurance card and a job identification card which is absolute rubbish. She's not a student she's well over the legal age (32) The insurance card was completely irrelevant and so was having a job ID. This man is VERY LAZY and did not want to his job Looking for any reason to refuse and deny service to qualified passport applicants. (He turned away the man right before us too) I know for fact that this man was LYING because I did not have to do any of the above besides present my valid ID, BIRTH CERTIFICATE & SOCIAL AND SUBMIT A COPY OF MY ID FOR MY PASSPORT . Instead of going back-and-forth and arguing with this man we decided to leave. We went the short distance to the Post Office on 125th street submitted the documents we currently had and ALL WERE APPROVED Without all of the extra paperwork he tried to make her believe she needed. This man is very incompetent and does NOT DO HIS JOB! PLEASE find somebody else to replace him who will not give customers a hard time & do their job efficiently. Our visit on 125th Post office went very smoothly and the process took less than...
Read moreThis review is solely about one staff member, May (possibly Mae, unless she lied about her name but she was on duty at about 3:30 pm today. I live on the block. I’m in the post office all the time. I know many of the staff inside and outside of the post office and I have NEVER been spoken to the way I was just spoken to EVER. First off, I was dropping off a package which she printed for me. I have always taken a picture of the package so that I have proof that the package was mailed and in good condition. No one has ever said anything about it and has always said “sure go ahead”. She said that I could not because their clerk number was on the package. So? Didn’t make any sense to me but now I understand why. She clearly didn’t want me to be able to ID her because she was not wearing any name identification and when I asked for her name, she sat their with an f-you look on her face and was clearly not going to give it to me. So then I asked her coworker if she could tell me the girl’s name. At that point the same clerk shouted her name at me so that the entire room could hear her name “May”. At no point did I raise my voice. This girl had an attitude off the bat. She was too busy talking to her coworker and on her phone to even call me over when I was standing in line. This is professionalism?? I didn’t know you could get paid to chitchat all day while customers stand there waiting. I only wish I had used my camera to record how she spoke to me. And since I know so many people at this location, I’ll be letting them...
