Disappointing Pedicure Experience.
I recently visited WellZen Lounge for a pedicure & unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. Despite leaving with relaxed feet, the overall outcome was disappointing.
Pros: Convenient last-minute appointment availability on a Saturday. Impressive color selection for nail polish. Extensive menu with various service options.
Cons: Language barrier led to confusion regarding my requested service. There is a disconnect between the service menu & the techs. I booked and she was told -Paraffin Pedicure. I was unimpressed with the “callus removal” and asked when was it reallllyy coming, since she was moving onto polish. That’s when she realized her error. We discussed it. I said too late to go back. You missed it… oh well. She tried TWICE to sneak in the paraffin AFTER we spoke. Never-mind all the other services included in paraffin that she forgot. 🙄
Extremely uncomfortable seating on a hard wooden bench for an extended period, exacerbated by loud music & videos.
Poor quality of service, including a significant error on one of my toenails. *I have a huge ring of polish near my “cuticles” on both big toes. *My heels are dry & crusty. Worse than what I went in with.
Overall, my visit to WellZen Lounge was underwhelming and anything but “Zen” like. Despite the elevated marketing, the experience felt basic, lacking the expected level of luxury and quality corresponding to the prices. I do not plan to return...
Read moreIf you don’t mind listening to a fellow client have an often explicit conversation on their phone for the entire duration of your wait and then service time then this is the place for you! The clinicians are great. I’m usually quite pleased with my experience and services rendered.
The management could lay some ground rules - and POST SIGNS - around phone use. It IS NOT the responsibility of the clinicians to ask this person to stop talking on the phone. It IS NOT the clients responsibility to say anything to this person either. Clients DID COMPLAIN and the clinicians did their best and asked this person to lower their voice - twice. Even then, they did not end the conversation.
I go to the salon to relax. Most patrons share the understanding that we’re in a shared space and an extended explicit personal conversation is inappropriate and rude. Time is precious. I understand that, for some, talking through their appointment is efficient and maybe the only time they have for that conversation. Life is full of trade offs and we gotta work together.
All said, I’m not even calling out this person. I’m calling on the owners and managers of this business to support their staff and the client experience. Post signs. Set the tone. It’s so...
Read moreI just recently moved into the area and was having a really hard time finding a clean, welcoming, and professional nail salon. Today as I was exploring I came across WellZen and was excited because it was new just like me and because it had a lovely aesthetic from the outside and continues on inside! The prices are so reasonable ($35 for a gel mani),especially for Brooklyn and the set up is so cozy! I walked right in without an appointment, expecting to have to wait but they sat me right away. I had to soak my previously gel nails and get a new color gel. All of their products are organic and non skin damaging like some of the products you see being used at other salons. Everything was spotless and the service was seamless! Blanca was my nail technician and she was sweet and inquired about how often I have to use my hands for labor, and based on my response she insisted on putting a third coat which was very generous. They also have an incredible pedicure area that I didn't use today but will absolutely be coming back for! I actually decided to open a membership (at no cost) because I know that I will be a frequent visitor! So happy to have found this gem of a salon right...
