Nice space, product is laid out strategically lending itself to a smooth shopping experience. Whole Foods staff members are also kind and warming.
I’ve been visiting here - on peak and off peak hours - since opening a few weeks ago. My only grievance lies with the private security on the premises. Initially I tried not to pay mind to the constant eyes as you pick up and consider product, it makes sense this area has tons of traffic day in and day out.
However, today’s experience was unmerited and tactless on the security persons end. While checking out with my wife and daughter a gentleman (private security person) leaned on a pillar 3 ft away from us and stared as I scanned every single item - there was no other person checking out at this time (approx 10:30-10:40am). He literally stood over us no concern for us as people. I understand presence and asset protection, but there is no need to violate someone’s personal space especially when they are with their family and children.
Sincerely disappointed - please consider having more thoughtful 3rd party security persons on...
Read moreVery disgusting experience
Went here after the end a work day to see if I missed any item I needed for the week and I was followed by their mini undercover security guard. He pretended to be on a phone call walking towards me but had this phone camera directed towards me as I walked past, I even turned around to see if he was actually on a phone call and no it was opened in the camera app. He then turns and looks at me like I did something wrong and approached me in an aggressive manner, almost like raising his hands and then just walking past me.
I didn’t touch a single item during this visit nor did I have any bags or anywhere on me to hide product if I was actually doing something. I’ve been a customer here weekly (daily at some points) since the first week they’ve opened and this is no way to treat someone who spends a little too much here at this location. Very unprofessional and uncomfortable experience and will not be visiting/shopping here...
Read moreVisited Stuytown Whole Foods a few times: once for curiosity (bought a few items, mostly non-food), stopped in for a "To Good To Go" grab bag...largely inedible due to all of it being days past the expiration date and the mac-n-cheese was more like pasta and glue (tossed that), and finally last Saturday night when I bought ingredients to make nachos. My takeaway? I will NEVER buy ground beef at Whole Foods again. This was the vacuum packed 80-20 ground beef for 6.99/1 lb. It was so gross and had lots of hard bits. I never thought Whole Foods quality was going to be so poor. Clearly, in order to get high quality, you have to buy a more premium product, but I never have this problem buying the same level/price point beef in other markets. Frankly, I am shocked. It made me rethink the whole idea of what they claim to be. Quality has really fallen off a cliff. NOT IMPRESSED, and honestly, I want...
