I currently purchased a Groupon for my Birthday with the Why Not Mens Spa & here is my experience...
My Mani/Pedi started off good but it all went down hill from there. Probably the worse Mani/pedi I've ever received . JACK didn't seem to be very excited to start conversation with me..But I ignored that after 5 minutes because they did just open and I know the feeling of customers trying to talk to you when you're still half asleep. After my horrible pedicure (with no polish) was over ...I asked if he could use the black polish I brought with me for my manicure..He told me "No..Only clear". How can you be a Mens Spa in the village and only offer CLEAR nail polish has a option?! And then he accidentally cut me by digging into my cuticle too hard and I didn't even receive a apology. I was also left with my nails being cut too low which I told him I didn't want.
Luckily my hott stone massage with KAVIN made up for that horrible Mani/pedi service . He did a AMAZING job and really released all the kinks out of my body. The only negative I have for this experience was the extra 30min he suggested for my massage but didn't inform me on how much it would cost.
My facial was GREAT!! The Asain woman (I believe her name was NANA) suggested I try the microdermabrasion (which she informed me before starting would be a extra $30) because I had a few breakouts and open pores. After the facial my skin felt so soft and golden. I would definitely go back for her services again!
After my services was over I was told that I owed $100..Which I was confused about because I only knew of the extra $30 for my facial. But because the full body massage was EVERYTHING I needed..I didn't mind splurging a little bit on myself since it was my Birthday.
The most annoying thing towards the end was a $10 tip minimum for each server. Now my Mani/pedi service was NOT worth a $10 tip AT ALL!! And I expressed that to the front desk..So I gave him $5 for Jack &...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COST!! I don’t usually leave reviews but for this place in particular, I feel like I have to as their staff were so unethical and unhygienic in their practice, the customer service was horrible, and I was required to tip by the end of my visit. I’m sure they ask their own staff and friends to leave “good” reviews for false advertisement. (See photo attached for horrible facial)
It all started with a facial. The guy that did my facial did not even bother to clean up or swap the materials he was using for new ones, and the bed looked like it was recently used. I asked if he could clean them first or swap them for new ones, but he didn’t even respond. Once we started with the facial, out of nowhere, he started poking my face and called it a day. He literally left clusters of moisturizer on my beard and behind my ears, which I had to wipe them off myself.
I also had a mani and pedi which literally consisted of just cutting my nails, filing them, and just adding moisturizer. And then they had the nerve to ask me to tip, which should be up to the customer. After I left the place, I noticed bruises and swollen areas on my face, and I’m sure that’s not the outcome we look for in a facial (see photo attached).
Total came out to $109 for such a mediocre service, on top of the tip required. I literally have had WAY better service for a pedi, mani, and facial all in one for $70 elsewhere and no tip was required, and they made sure I felt comfortable. Please make sure to avoid this place. If I could, I would give it a...
Read moreI'm not one to pamper myself, but the idea of a men's spa felt good and I'm horrible at nail maintenance, so I figured I'd give them a try. They also have a special mani + pedi for $30 which is less than the price of a pedi by itself, so I figured I'd check it out. I feel a bit self conscious about a pedicure, as a klutz and a person of size my toe nails are problematic at least. But the staff was polite and worked through without any comments (at least not in English). I appreciate this level of professionalism.
They cut my fingernails a bit closer than I would, but I'm ok with that. They didn't ask my preferences though, so if short nails are not your thing, you may want to speak up before they start.
If anything the reason that I give them only three stars is that they don't really communicate much well. For my second visit three different people attended me and I don't know why. I suspect it is because the main person had to attend to some other function, but if so, he didn't tell me nor did he apologize for the sudden switches. They kept on switching people. It left me confused about whom to tip. Thankfully one can leave the tip wi the cashier, so I let them figure it out.
They also tried to up-sell me on services. Thankfully I knew what I wanted, so I only took one suggestion. They were pretty aggressive about the up-sell though, which was a little off putting.
Overall it was a good experience, and I will...
