This is in response to Emmaâs one star review.
I have been a volunteer at the Wildlife Freedom Foundation since 2022, and I would like to clarify that what youâve stated in your review is completely false. This organization is not to âsatisfy peopleâs passion for feeding and petting catsâ. I have seen firsthand the AMAZING things this organization does for animals. First, ALL of the cats are neutered or spayed. The utmost care is taken to ensure that the cats are taken care of before being brought to the Sanctuary. While we have rescued young cats that many mistake for kittens, our cats cannot have kittens since they are neutered and spayed! We rehabilitate MANY forms of wildlife including geese, ducks, swans, migratory birds, opossums, squirrels, and more.
Our cats are NOT FERAL CATS. They are formerly owned and rescued from ACC, the killing shelter of the city of New York.
If you no longer see some of our cats, that is great news as it means they have been placed in a foster home or adopted! Please check our website for an extensive gallery of happy stories.
I would like to address the word ânegligenceâ used in your review. Emma, I volunteer with such kind people who are so well-educated on all kinds of animals. These are people who take the utmost care in what they do. Please, Emma, stop by and talk to us if you would like to learn more about the amazing work done by the Wildlife Freedom Foundation. We love visitors and are always happy to have new volunteers! :)
I give the Wildlife Freedom Foundation 5 stars out of 5. There is no where else I would rather volunteer, and I am so proud to be a part of an organization that is actually making a difference in the lives of...
Read moreI came for inquiry for cat adoption - met by the most unpleasant rude woman you can imagine. As I spoke and asked the questions, she brushed me off that she doesnât have time because she has to clean. Each word I spoke was just treated as a sheer nuisance and I was just shocked for her anger at obvious stranger that she met for the first time. When I asked her to see the cats, she said itâs not to enter and angrily yelled at us âthis is sanctuary and injured animal live here!!!â I got offended and decided to sit and eat pizza I brought in front of the sanctuary. Surprise surprise! The same woman yelled at us and repelled us kindly welcomed two younger white guys and even let them approach near the gate. Is she a racist or what? As they ask similar questions like I did, she passionately answered and was even cracking smiles. Meanwhile she monitored us and looked every occasion to yell at us even outside the sanctuary - when my daughter found a little kitten outside the sanctuary fence and tried to approach, she yelled from the sanctuary at her. As I ask âis she retuning there?â She was angrily mumbling something. Extremely unpleasant experience. Forget about cat rescue. This woman needs to...
Read moreI have seen so many times that the cats on this island having birds in their mouths. This island is on a natural migration pathway for many precious birds: some are even endangered species. Also they never neuter their cats. Every spring, numerous kittens would pop out and appear outside our buildings. Many of them disappear quickly. I doubt if they were adopted or they just died out of negligence. This organization claims that they love animals, but what they do is to the let the cats kill birds, breed and die. I wonder if the existence of this organization is just to satisfy some peopleâs passion for feeding and petting some cats. They donât care about anything else.
Because how would you explain all the dead birds we see in your catsâ mouth and what have you done to stop cats getting them?? How do you explain all the kitties we see every spring if all your cats are neutered?? And if you are a federal registered non-profit organization, you should welcome voices from the community to question the purpose and execution of your organization. Otherwise how it is different from using this land for your...
