Hi everybody! This is just my experience most recently. I have visited this bar three times in 3 years. The first two were great, the location is perfect for locals/ the ny tourists who mind their business and know how to have a good time! This last visit was NOT satisfactory to Me because of the Bartender who was apparently, "..filling in for the Manger who's off on vacation". I had just completed my day and decided to visit This Bar to mark my 3 years living in Menatay (manhatta) ♥ I asked simply for pilsner recommendations/ he had no idea what that was and just pointed to the taps. Strike 1! He didn't even say a friendly hello just stared at me until asked my question. 👌 I secondly asked him for the the TAP (beer) with the lowest ABV , understanding he wasn't at all there with the slightest passion in hospitality, I wanted to get on and enjoy the views with my celebratory brewskie. He didn't understand my request or bothered to even ASK ME what my question meant or was? I am an avid learner. I love learning newthings/ especially when I'm in the hospitality and Tourism field in one of the great museums in this country. He spoke English but I totally left room in case he was compeltey fluent( English is my second language) I moved on with myself and pointed to the NEAREST Tap and didn't say a word. I enjoyed my time and views as soon as i turned around with my beer! 😂 Goodluck to you and your experiences darlings. I will return sometime soon! Btw, I tip the bucket ONE DOLLAR for ME and for those who have to endure this kind of service citywide.
I love...
Read moreI visited this restaurant on a Saturday with a friend recently based on a recommendation. First off this spot is not easy to get to and very hidden. But the views from this restaurant are worth the trip/search. It can get very crowded as it gets later on the evening and musicians played throughout the night. This is a bar setting but I observed quite a few small children with their families. The menu mainly consists of various types of sausages. I tried the kielbasa and my friend had the chorizo which were both very good. The sides consisted of pita bread as well as onions with the chorizo and sauerkraut with the keilbasa. Each plate of sausage cost us $10.00 which I think is alot for just plain grilled meat with out even a side salad. Everything is served fast food style where you place your order at one counter and pick it at another once your number is called. There is NO table service of any kind that I observed during my visit and purchases are cash only. There is an ATM on site but the fee is $3.00 so come...
Read moreWent here with a large (~45 people) group, most of whom hadn't seen each other since the pandemic, so a good time was virtually guaranteed, but that's not to say Anable Basin Bar & Grill had no role to play in it!
Good selection of beer and considerably more expansive food offerings than I had expected (I'd thought they'd offered only hot dogs). I ordered the Kielbasa, twice. First they messed up my order and gave me the cevapi, which was really good (although all I could think about was the Key and Peele sketch—they had the adjvar and the onions and the cream!), but I was still hungry, so I had the kielbasa (for real, this time), served with sauerkraut and toasted pita, and that was also great.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the incredible views of Manhattan, which at sunset are truly spectacular. It's about a 15 walk from the 7 train, but it's...
