Yùnhóng Chopsticks — Local services in New York

The owners of this store need to do a much better job of educating consumers about some of their specialty chopsticks. I bought an attractive and expensive pair of white chopsticks capped with mother of pearl. After a meal with some chili paste I noticed they were stained orange/red and try as I might, I was unable to whiten them. At the store I was informed the material was ox-bone but the standard paper care instructions provided are only for wooden chopsticks and said nothing that was helpful (e.g. do not soak too long in water; only hand wash). The salespeople need to provide more instructions, verbally or written, for those chopsticks with highly absorbent properties. They have a NO RETURN POLICY. I guess it is hard to expect complete honesty from a store whose receipt has a non-working website and...

Cute little store in Chinatown. Middle of the block, it's so small you might miss it if you blink. It's a delightful store with lots of colors. So much to look at in such a small space. They have a great selection of chopsticks from just a couple dollars to expensive. Some sets come in beautiful boxes for gifting. They also have a few small ceramic tea service sets and fans and chopstick stands. The chopstick stands were all different styles. Some were cute animals and butterflies, and some were mother of pearl or abalone. Also they have chopsticks for children that are attached at the top. In Chinatown, you can pick up a pair of chopsticks from any of the gift shop stores but… If you really want a nice pair of chopsticks, even inexpensive ones, this is the must place to go.

I wanted to pick up a set of chopsticks, but they weren’t going to be Available. I was certain because my request was to match up each person in my family to the Chinese zodiac.

Well, no sweat for Yùnhóng Chopsticks 🥢 Well, they didn’t have them all in stock, but I’m down there every Sunday so no big deal. I’ll just get it another day. They were the inexpensive ones anyway.
