They have a $200 knotless braid any size any length special going on and if they provide the hair it would be an additional $20 dollars which means for the style ,you would end up paying $220 . They prefer you make an appointment online and at that time you have to pay a deposit of $40 . The remaining is to be paid in cash or via zelle. My balance should have been $180. I had a 5 AM appointment and they did not show up until 537 and that was after I called. The owner said she overslept and would be there in 15 minutes which turned into 37 minutes. Once inside I sat down and she asked me what colors. I showed her the below inspo picture and I was told to read the caption of the photo for the colors because I did not know what colors it was . The mix was #4/30/27 four and then they added black. The lady I was talking to that actually went and got the hair was not the braider that was doing my hair. She came in maybe five minutes after. I reiterated I want small braids with small boxes and showed the picture to this braider as well . She starts braiding and I feel the box size (because the braid size was fine) and I said I would like my box to be smaller and for the third time showed the picture. She told me it was that size, and that I needed to let a few rows go because the lower row would always feel bigger, which made no sense to me. She keeps braiding and as she gets to the top, I said for the 4th time about smaller parts and she told me the parts have to match. We get to the end and she asked me if I liked them and I said they would have to do because I had to leave. At this Time she asked me what price did the owner tell me and I said, what do you mean? I told her the price should be $200 and I had already paid a deposit for 40 and I knew there would be an additional 20 because of the hair so my balance should be 180 . She proceeds to tell me the owner should’ve told me the price and I told her well then she needs to call the owner. She didn’t call the owner and the owner was like what was the price on the Internet when you booked and I said $200 plus the hair And how much of a deposit did you pay and I tell her $40. I’m getting a little frustrated because what’s the point in booking an appointment and paying a deposit if we’re gonna have to go through this anyway. She says well it’s actually gonna be an extra 20 for the hair and your balance is $210. Where she got her math from was beyond me. I Asked for the Zelle information and she goes what we just got this new phone and I don’t really know it and then the braider goes I can just walk to the ATM a few doors down. I come back in and the braider asked me. How much should I pay in total I told her she charged me in total 250 and then I tipped the braider an additional $30. Then i went home saw my hair and was pissed. Yesterday someone made a comment on their post about them changing their prices but advertising the 200 sale. I commented my experience and the owner deleted it. So I decided to leave my review here.
Oh and let me also add I never received any apology of compensation...
Read moreI wish I knew where to even start. My friend and I had 9:30AM appointments with them this past Saturday for small knotless braids. The owner of the shop was welcoming when we arrived. I was told to sit at a hairstylist’s station. My hairstylist arrived about 10 minutes after I sat at her station. She gets started on my hair right away. My friend was told to sit at the owner’s styling station. The owner started to work on parting my friend’s hair for her desired style. The owner kept leaving her station to try to reel in new clients along with other things. She handed my friend off to another stylist, who specifically had an afro, after a good hour of her not even doing much to her hair. My friend’s new stylist was very rough with my friend’s hair. My friend is Dominican and it was so onvious that this stylist did not have much experience with Hispanic hair. She pulled so much of her hair out after trying to comb her hair from the root of her hair. There were times when my friend kept tensing up while sitting because this specific stylist was hurting her.
My stylist was a pretty quick braider, I wish I knew her name because she was very kind and did not feel the need to take any breaks! My braids took 6 and a half hours which is a normal time length for small box braids. My friend’s stylist spent 10 hours working on her hair.. I watched this stylist walk out of the shop twice, while Im getting my hair done, to “go move her car” while my friend remained in her chair waiting for her to return. When she returned, there was no apology given to my friend at all for the stylist leaving her station. My friend got out if the salon around 7:45pm which was unacceptable.
The salon has no heat. There were these two portable heater that the stylists used that the owner of the shop kept turning off for some reason. So throughout the time of me getting my hair done, I’ve had my coat on.
Their bathroom door knob is backwards so anyone can just flick the lock button from the outside and walk in on you.
There was a woman that had an appointment at 1PM. There were 6 stylists working with their clients at that time. The woman was falling asleep in her chair while waiting for a chair to open up. The woman finally sat in a chair around 4PM.
My friend and I had plans that we had to cancel because of the shop being inconsiderate with their clients’ time while doing their hair. In my opinion, they need to hire more stylists so that it can be more than one braider working on a client’s head at once. Also they need to invest in some heat because NJ weather is no joke in the winter. This shop was a once in a life time experience for...
Read moreI found them via social media, but then was a little hesitant to book as I got nervous after reading the Google reviews. However, I was desperate, but also appreciated that I was able to book for 6:00 am today, so I said a prayer, booked my appt, paid my deposit, and showed up this morning at 6:00 am.
A few issues like one, the space they’re in is their new space. However, I was standing in front of their old shop, which still had signage up, so I’m thinking they’re still not open post 15 minutes of my appt time. I looked across the street and then saw their new shop. That was a little frustrating, but all good. When I walked in, there were two other women there and one stylist. I asked for the name the person I’ve been texting told me to ask her, and it ended up being the one stylist that was there who already had someone in their chair. Another issue was the price changing via text the night before. I had to remind the person I was chatting with that they said a different price. It wasn’t that far off, but still, that’s not the point. Final issue was I was almost done and then a lady asked me to confirm who I was and then my price, but what threw me off was her asking me to pay while my head is titled sideways and Fatim is braiding my hair. I spoke up and after if I could pay when I was actually done and she said fine, so all good, but I thought that was odd. At the end, I said to the same woman that I didn’t have an issue paying, it was more so being asked while I’m STILL getting the service done. She was nice with her response.
All in all, I love my hair. I do hate the fact they didn’t take the time to curl the ends of my braids to somewhat match the texture of the wavy human hair.
Due to everything I mentioned above, I give them a 4 star, but I will return for Fatim. Thanks Fatim for being very...
