Kim's — Local services in Newburgh

I 100% recommend shopping at Kim's! I purchased 2 swivel glider recliners here a few weeks ago and they were delivered today. Every bit of my experience with Kim's was wonderful.

My husband and I came in and we were greeted by a few employees and asked if we needed any help. We said no, we were just browsing and we were left alone (I don't know about everyone else but I hate it when a salesperson is breathing down your neck!). Keep in mind that we tend to dress very casually so many stores snub their noses at us but Kim's treated us like any other customer.

We looked at the furniture in the main room, then in the back area, then came back to the front room. We tested out lots of different things because we weren't quite sure what we wanted for our living room. We sat in almost every chair and most of the loveseats too lol.

We initially found a swivel glider we liked and we asked one of the employees if they had a match for it. She said no because it was a consigned item but offered to see how much a new one would be. She searched online and found a price for us. She also offered see if she could find the same fabric in a different chair if we wanted. We ended up deciding against that chair in the end because it wasn't a recliner but we thanked the employee for her help.

We decided to keep looking around instead and found a swivel glider recliner we loved. Side note: many of the new chairs they sell can be made in different styles, we almost passed these chairs over because they were rocker recliners but then noticed the paper saying it could be made with a glider base instead. Once we decided on a chair, we were able to pick out the fabric we liked. The employee who was helping us (I believe her name was Tammy) let us look through the fabrics and then showed us the fabric in different lighting so we could be sure we liked it. Once we had all our decisions narrowed down, we put in the order, paid, and were told it would be ready in about 2.5-3 weeks.

They called yesterday to tell us the chairs were in (2.5 weeks after we paid) and scheduled delivery for today at 4:30pm. The gentlemen who delivered the chairs were prompt, friendly, and helpful. We asked them to wear masks in our home and they were happy to do so. They put the chairs together, plugged them in, made sure we knew how to use the controls, and arranged them perfectly so we could see the TV from both chairs and swivel as needed. They left no mess whatsoever.

Every bit of the experience was wonderful and if I need more furniture in the future, I will be stopping at...

11/10 experience!!! Shopping from Kim’s was the BEST decision we made.

PROCESS: We were shopping for a dining table. We found a few options through Ashley furniture store, but they were expensive. We thought we’d check out Kim’s consignment store to see if they had other options. Little did I know that not only does Kim have a huge selection in store, but she also has access to order furniture from big box brands, like Ashley’s for a much lower price.

SERVICE: I was hesitant about the wood clashing with our cabinets, and Kim offered her honest opinion based on the pictures of our kitchen, dining room, and our table options. She helped us feel confident in the table we chose, working within our budget and style preferences. She was just so personable and helpful the whole time!

PRICING: The whole dining set at Ashley’s came out to $1,708 (all-inclusive of delivery & tax). Kim priced the EXACT same set for $1,097. She price matches anything you find!!

DELIVERY: Ashley’s told us the table wouldn’t get delivered for 2 weeks. Kim’s got it delivered fully assembled in 8 days. The table was in pristine condition, even having the Signature Design by Ashley tags. Kim’s added a bonus set of felt pads to our table for easily gliding too. The people who delivered were also so helpful and sweet to show us how to operate the butterfly leaf. They also ensured the table was in great condition prior to leaving.

SUMMARY: They earned our trust for the future - we won’t be shopping...

Kim’s is a great find for shopping for furniture and accessories! We leisurely browsed the store, but were offered help and received it. We were able to discuss various styles and upholsteries and pick from dozens of choices. There were no delays in delivery. We were told to allow three weeks for delivery and took delivery in 20 days. The delivery people were very prompt and professional. They showed us how to operate the power furniture and placed it in an upstairs bedroom at no extra charge. The delivery fee was very reasonable.
