Don Juan Authentic Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Newburgh

If you live in Evansville or Newburgh Indiana and you like authentic Mexican food YOU HAVE TO GO TO DON JUAN. I grew up in Southern California and it is impossible to find fresh Mexican food with flavor here. This place just opened and it is great. The location is out of an old video store so dining in is a bit different but they have take out and the food is so good. There is fresh made salsa at the table with extra sauce and homemade flan and authentic tacos and tostadas. They have plenty of meat but also have vegetarian options which is a big plus (and also authentic). They even have nopales which are hard to find here. I had the pleasure of dining at Don Juan Authentic Mexican Grill in Newburgh, and it was an amazing experience! I tried the Quesabirrias for the first time, and they were absolutely incredible—so flavorful and filling! I ordered three but could only finish two because of how generous the portions were.

The drink selection was fantastic too. They serve Coca-Cola in glass bottles, made with real cane sugar, which was a delicious complement to the meal. The only thing that could have made the experience better was if they offered alcohol, but honestly, the food and atmosphere were so good that it hardly mattered.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. I can’t wait to come back and try more...

It was a first time visit and I had heard that the food and service was good so, I wanted to check it out. Ordered a kid's meal Taco with Crispy fries and a tostada with beef and cheese only. I also ordered the "baby" size burrito and, let me tell you, this burrito was the size of a brick!

The burrito and the taco and the fries were really good. The tostada shell was a bit stale and I didn't care for that. Maybe next time it will be better.
