Lively Kids — Local services in Newburyport

I was greatly disappointed with my experience at Lively Kids. I would have loved to give a better review of this shop, but unfortunately I cannot.

Just recently I was encouraged by a sales member to purchase an item that I was hesitant about to begin with. I felt pressured and was unsure that the product would be appropriate for what my son needed but was reassured by her that the product she was selling me would be a good fit. However, they had nothing else in the store that better fit the description of what I was looking for and now I can't help but feel a bit tricked. Lesson learned.

When I tried to return the item I was expecting no problem, as it was very clear that the sales member had assured me that the product would be sufficient and it wasn't. However, all I received was a suggestion to try to contact the product's company to see what they could do. in other words, a "we can't help you." I was not told that there was a no refund or no return policy at the time I purchased the item.

I hadn't really shopped here pre-COVID but due to their outstanding service during some pretty ambiguous and hectic times I now find myself going out of my way to shop here. The prices are higher than what I like to spend for kids stuff, but they're in line with other boutique style shops and they carry high quality products. It's not somewhere I would go for an entire wardrobe but I consistently buy gifts here.

But it's their customer service that really gets me. The staff here is so incredibly helpful. One staffer here not only measured shoes for me while we were on the phone to make sure I was buying the right size, but she also texted me pictures of everything they had in stock in the size I needed. Then when I couldn't find parking she ran my purchase out to the curb for me so I wouldn't have to schlep my two kids in at the height of COVID. They really go above and...

My girlfriend, and I enjoyed our visit to this small unique store on our way back from breakfast. At first we assumed this store was geared torwards infants and younger children, however; after inquiring with the owner we were informed that their is actually a downstairs floor with sizes for older children as well. The store has a cool casual/comfy urban feel to it. Classic rock t-shirts, graphic trendy designs and super sweet, soft, and unusual stuffed animals, toys, accessories and footwear.
