I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this sporting goods store, primarily due to the unprofessional behavior of one of the employees, Noah. I simply asked for clarification on the price of an item marked as clearance, but Noah responded in the most rude and confrontational way as if I was inconveniencing him in some way. When I asked him to explain the pricing, he got nasty and even went as far as to talk about me to another employee while I was still standing right there—completely uncalled for and disrespectful.
To make things worse, when I asked for his name, the cashier lied and gave me a different name, before tossing the receipt at me without saying a word. When I said, “oh you just lied directly to me, I can see his name tag now.” She replied, “well next time, just look for yourself.” I was shocked by the lack of customer service and professionalism.
Here’s the thing: it’s not your product, you don’t own it, and whatever you sell it for doesn’t affect your personal finances. The item didn’t even have a price tag, and instead of checking the actual cost, Noah refused and argued with me just for asking a simple question. Even more than that, he took the product altogether and set it behind the counter, almost as if I couldn’t purchase it. This whole experience left a terrible impression, and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
I sure hope management really works on training with these young employees because their basic social skills are missing. Clearly from reading other reviews, I’m not the first to have this experience at...
Read moreI do not like making negative reviews, but my experience shopping here has never been a great one when it relates to the lack of quality customer service. I believe that when a bad review is warranted, it should be shared with others. This store has a horrible vibe, no greetings upon entering or even eye contact from the lady who opened my fitting room for me. I understand having a bad day. I can manifest a few myself, but I hope that upon reading this review, management can form a team together. Im half tempted to not return for in-store shopping in the future. Hopefully, for the future of those who work here and for the very few stores left in the Newport area, this place can pull it together to provide better customer service to their community. For the price of goods sold here, I'd rate my experience at this store...
Read moreWorst service I have ever received. I went in to buy a pair of hiking shoes (which are not mixed in with the rest of the shoes) on a Sunday. Every employee was BS'ing with another employee. The person that was assigned to shoes was nowhere to be found when I was looking. As I was getting ready to leave empty handed, I saw the outdoor shoes, behind the women's shoes. So, I went to look at them. A lady also needing help in this section actually found someone who gave her the "all sizes We have are out" answer and quickly disappeared before she could ask another question. She actually said to his back, "I wasn't finished" but he was gone. Long review, I know. My point here is that Dick's is going to have the same stuff in every store. If you think you may need help with anything,...
