Have to change this rating from a 5 star to 1 star after the way this place has fallen apart and here is why. Last night was more than likely my last trip to this location. I was going to this store to purchase a new wireless mesh system since the one I had was on its last let. Since this was going to be a large purchase I wanted to use QuadPay, but my Apple Pay on my phone isn’t working currently, so I called the store to see if they could enter my digital card information, after staying the phone for an eternity no one even bothered to answer. As the store was closing in an hour or so I decided to goto the store and see if it would work, plus maybe talk to an associate about mesh systems they sold the most of and what other customers liked. So I walk into the store it’s fairly dead as I walk in and go ask the person up front if someone could help me in the networking, she said it would be a while since they are so busy. As I was waiting in the networking section and how “busy” they were with one employee walking away with one of the new Xbox systems and two employees playing catch with a paper ball. So after 40 minutes of waiting someone finally comes over to check in on me, and I ask him for the recommendations, my specific need had to have Ethernet ports for one of the satellites since a computer is connected to it. So he recommended me the Amazon eeros and something seemed off about the salesperson, first I asked to see the box of the item he was talking about and said we couldn’t open it, all I wanted was the specs and then asked him what the AC rating of the mesh system was, he didn’t know what I was talking about, I asked about the Ethernet ports on the satellite and he ensured me that they had the ports on them. So I decided to go with those, I went to the register and they were unable to take the information of the digital card and said I would I have to place an in store pickup as the store was closing. I decided before I do that I would check the product just for some reviews and it turns out the satellites did not have the Ethernet ports as the salesperson described. So I would have been out around 300 dollars had I purchased the one he recommended. The staff is uninformed of their products and obviously don’t care, from now on I will either visit the one in boardman or make the trip to microcenter. I would advise against using this location. Read moreI purchased a new computer and was told by the sales representative that the Geek Squad could transfer the information from my old desktop to my new one and turn off the touch screen if I purchased the membership. Geek Squad performed neither of these tasks and instead did a backup to the One Drive, which was completely unnecessary and not the requested service. I discovered this upon getting my new computer home and called into the store and was told to call their 800 number. I called the 800 number and was told to go into the store. I went into the store and was told by Darrien with the Geek Squad that the sales representative, Lafael, was incorrect in relaying the abilities of the Geek Squad but provided no explanation for why they did not turn off the touch screen. I asked for the membership to be canceled but was only offered $25.00 as they had performed service. This "service" was not the service requested or contracted for and would be the same as if I hired a contractor to replace my front door, they replaced a window instead and asked me to pay for said window. I have since been bounced around on the telephone repeatedly with dropped calls and transfers. The amount of dropped calls are suspicious, but I digress. A $25.00 refund and membership cancellation was unilaterally processed after I specifically stated in writing that the membership was to be canceled after refund of the full purchase price which is also suspicious as it appears Best Buy attempted to deprive me of standing to pursue any other rights afforded by the membership. I was told this matter was escalated but found out it was not, then when it was escalated, they denied my request without telling me as I was just informed on the telephone after calling in after 72 hours so they could investigate the matter. At the end of the day, I was lied to, ripped off, disrespected, given the runaround, and provided an infinite amount of frustration, all for a service that did not save me time as was the ultimate goal. Read moreBest Buy has turned into a complete disaster in the last 10 years. Placed an order for in store pick on February 8th. The item was a pre order for an item that I knew wasnt available in store at the moment. Best Buy processed my order and said it would arrive in the store February 14th. A week wait wasnt a big deal so I placed the order. However come February 14 when it says my order will be ready for pickup the whole day goes buy without order status changing. I call what I think is the store and end up with a call center in India. After many attempts to try and figure out where my item is one of the call center associates tells me after a 10 min hold that he just talked to an associate at the store and that they would receive the item via delivery at 6pm. I verified multiple times that it would be there after 6 for pick up and he assured me he talked to the store and it was on its way. After driving 30 mins out of my way to go pick this up the kid working the cash register tells me they don’t have the item. Maybe it went to the wrong store he says…. Great answer and poor training to tell a customer maybe it went to the wrong store. After speaking with the guy that said he was manager, he told me that the item doesn’t have a tracking number on their side so it’s not in transit. He then tried to make excuses for the call center saying no retail store has associates that pick up the phone anymore. Not true but the way… so after an hours worth of my time I was told that they don’t know where it is or if it’s coming in at all. So I left and called the customer service number to be told the item is out of stock and they don’t know when they will fulfill the order. Worst customer service experience of my life. The fact that they can’t have one of the 15 kids standing around doing nothing all day answer a phone to prevent these things from happening is crazy.
